About Yovia
Solving social media3,934 Bloggers and 257 Websites with one common goal: to spread the word… What started as a YouTube experiment in 2005, quickly turned into one of the fastest growing organic networks of people and websites, generating 4.6 million free organic pageviews each month and employing more than 3,900 people on almost every continent. Based on the premise that traditional advertising methods are both ineffective and annoying to consumers, Yovia was founded to enable people from around the globe to talk about new products, discuss key issues, and in general grow the collective Yovia network. A select group of corporate sponsors provide funding for the growth of these communities, which goes directly into the hands of almost 4000 small business owners, writers, bloggers and graphic artists. This ongoing effort to link together, discuss topics, and bring awareness to key messages has created a highly-efficient method for social media optimization. The result is substantial, organic growth for everyone involved. This organic network simply ’spreads the word’ about things that matter, new products, movies, events, video games and random news. | Jalali Hartman - CEO & Founder jhartman@yovia.com Jalali founded Yovia to provide an alternative to high-cost, inefficient online advertising. With a belief that the best form of advertising is word-of-mouth, and a vision to enable talented writers, musicians and artists, Jalali established an expansive network of bloggers, artists, creative writers and social web sites, which today is Yovia. Mr. Hartman previously served as the Director of Strategy for MECLABS, where he created the Growth Engine as well as the patent-pending Conversion Index, a methodology which has been used to grow online subscriptions by thousands of percent for the world’s top consumer brands, including the New York Times, TheStreet.com, Reuters and Encyclopedia Britannica. |

Michelle Amos - Director Partner Services mamos@yovia.com Michelle is the queen of multi-tasking. She is often seen on the phone, email and jotting notes around the office. She is the glue that holds Yovia’s brand partners together. Michelle is not a marketer, in fact when we found her, she was a Chemical Engineer. Maybe it is that analytical mind and immunity to old-school marketing that has made her so successful. Ms. Amos has been instrumental in the launch of numerous organic campaigns, including work for the New York Times, Prevention Magazine and the Girl Gamer Squad, and has an uncanny ability to build blogosphere buzz. |

Lora Schaeffer - Director of Marketing & Brand Development lschaeffer@yovia.com Lora is the newest addition to the Yovia team, but already has proven invaluable. She is a gifted brand manager and marketer, and was responsible for one of the first real viral marketing campaigns on the internet (Victoria Secret’s Pink campaign). Lora manages the brands for our partners and brings real-world, big-company, yes-that-might-win-an-award insight to our organic campaigns. |

Israel Swanson - Director of Community Development You may recognize Israel is the original Sweatband Man. During his glorious career as a self-promoting YouTube star, he learned a few things about how to get content moving on the web. Those self-promotion skills refined him into one of the most experienced people in the world on social networks, blogs, chat groups, viral videos and all things Web 2.0. Israel currently manages a group of high-school and middle school kids, who, believe it or not, can make better Myspace profiles than any of us. |

Sharon Francis - Graphic Artist & Executive Assistant sfrancis@yovia.com Sharon’s most brilliant designs typically happen between 2 am and 4 am, but she still makes it into work in the morning. Currently, Sharon is the lead designer for NatnAlex.com. Sharon’s contagious laugh and tireless attitude helps keep us on task and in good spirits. |

Matt Hite - Marketing Manager mhite@yovia.com Matt is finishing up school (remember those days) and so he naturally has that cool-surfer-not-jaded-by-the-world personality. A gifted graphics artist, Matt is responsible for most of the cool t-shirts, widgets and buttons we use. |
| Dina Ely - Editor dely@yovia.com Dina is an editor to the core. And, she definitely did not write this page. I don’t even think you can use And to start a sentence. Anyway, a long, long time ago, Dina was one of the first ‘bloggers’. After that, she managed the Monkees, and then came to work for us, where she has the pleasure of interacting with hundreds of eager writers, all wanting feedback and corrections. She is also a Wordpress expert, but don’t ask her for help with her blog, we need her. |
|
| Jeff Venn - Director of IT jvenn@yovia.com Jeff’s major concern in coming to work for Yovia was that he wouldn’t be able to surf. We don’t care if people surf, as long as they invite us! Besides being semi-pro, he is an experienced IT executive, owning a successful design-build firm and building and maintaining enterprise-level software for big, big, big companies. |
|
| Tiffany Hartman - Controller tiffany@yovia.com Tiffany has (by far) the cleanest desk at Yovia. And she needs to be organized, given that she has to manage payments to hundreds of bloggers and writers from Indiana to Africa. Keeping the books straight, the lights on and the snack drawer stocked is a full-time job to say the least. |
