2012 Acura RL Preview
The Acura RL, which has been a hallmark for quality and luxury in the past, will add even more options and features for selective drivers with the 2012 model. New and improved items and model choices mean that drivers can find an Acura RL model to suit their specific tastes.
- Improved technology – Tech heads will love the RL’s Multi Information Display, which is located between the speedometer and the tachometer. On this one screen, drivers can find out the oil life, the odometer, the inside temperature, and receive any necessary alerts. The audio system features a 10-speaker Bose surround sound system, as well as Bluetooth connectivity and optional voice recognition.
- Safety features – Acura’s special safety package, the Collision Mitigation Braking System, is able to anticipate a collision by monitoring both the distance between the front of the RL and the nearest object as well as the driver’s response. The CMBS can then apply the brakes and tighten the seatbelts ahead of the crash.
- Body and exterior – The 2012 RL body is constructed mostly of steel but certain areas are made of aluminum, making the vehicle lighter and more fuel efficient. Standard 18-inch aluminum wheels add to the sleek look.
- Under the hood – It’s not just the outside that looks good on this vehicle. The RL comes with 3.7 liter V6 engine with 300 horsepower and a VTEC Valvetrain system. The automatic transmission allows for an average fuel economy of 20 miles per gallon.
