This game is so fun. If you like batman then you should defenatly get it. Even if you dont like Batman you should still get it. I love how you can use all of Batman gagets for differnt things. This shipped in 3 days so that was good. You also have to have a really good computer to play this so that is one draw back if you have a not so good computer. But over all one of my best parchases ever.

Batman Arkham Asylum reminds me of Half Life in an incredible number of ways – and that is a good thing. From the long introduction with limited control (remember the riding the tram in HL?), to the innovative gameplay/weapons and high quality graphics Batman AA delivers all of the things that made HL such an incredible game for its time. It may not appeal to those who like to “run and gun” but if you like your gameplay with a bit more stealth and planning you’ll be in for a treat. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that winning larger fights comes down to a lot of button mashing without a real sense of decision making/control. Even with that one negative, it is one of the best games I’ve played in the last three years.

The graphics for this game are unreal. Make sure your computer can handle it. The story line is awesome and keeps you interested without being over-the-top difficult. The riddles throughout the game made this game a 5 star for me. Fighting the characters in the game is also not designed to be over-the-top difficult either. Not a temendous variety of mouse button or keyboard combinations which makes it fun to battle. Primarily left click and circle around using your mouse movement. Other clicks include the middle button for stunning characters with knifes. Very easy to figure out without much discouragement. Once addicted the game can be pretty quick to beat. I was a tiny dissapointed with the final level with the Joker. Becasue of the intense graphics I was anticipating something stunning and momumental. But wasn’t very dissapointing. Trophies and upgrades are a nice touch. I never even got into the challenges or online play. So just with the story itself was fantastic. I can’t wait until they make part 2. I am hooked !!!

I’ve played the demo around 20 times waiting for the price to go down on this one. It finally did and I ordered it from Amazon. Installed it and had numerous issues getting it to launch because of Games For Windows Live. No surprise as any negative review of this game is aimed at that, not the actual game.

I took the time to really read the Read Me file and the Support folder on the DVD. It took some familiarity with PCs to ensure specific ports were open on my Network settings, but honestly, the step by step instructions provided made it pretty easy for the typical PC gamer who knows a little about PCs.

After following directions on adding ports to my Network setting and a simple copy and paste of a folder, my game no longer froze at launch. Previously, I would launch the game, a spinning eidos icon with bats swirling would start and then it would freeze to where I had to shut the power off to restart. Repeatedly. The natural first recommendation of updating drivers for video and sound were already done. I play Oblivion. STALKER, Prey, Crysis, HL2 etc with no issues.

I realized my problems were all due to GFWL. The demo which didn’t require GFWL ran fine and the issues I had were completely related to GFWL, not the actual game or my PC specs.

Very difficult getting past the GFWL hurdles, but after found it is a fun game. I do hate that I can’t look at a history of my game saves and replay any point I want at any time. Like with any other game i have for PC. I don’t get that. Instead, i can only continue game or start a new on in another of 4 slots. The ability to have 4 games going on at once is very good.

Some shortcomings which really could have been avoided easily. But since this is the best Batman game ever, you have to take the bad with the good.

Extremely slow load times made me feel like the game froze. I would hear audio but visual was froze. Turned out that this was time video was loading and it was very long. Other regular load times were fine. Just froze during launch of game when it was playing the movie early parts.
