The latest installation in the Guitar Hero franchise brings the mighty Van Halen front and center in this latest band-centric game. The game promises to include all of Van Halen’s mega-hits such as ‘Panama’ and ‘Jump’ but that’s not all. This game also includes tracks that Van Halen personally picked to appear in the game from bands like Queen, Blink-182, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and Weezer. Like other band-centric Guitar Hero games the whole band has been re-created in the digital realm, well except for that Sammy Hagar guy. In all honesty this game is much like the last and the one that came before it but is still fresh enough to not feel like a tired re-branding. Van Halen does what Van Halen does best in this game and it’s hard to fault them for it. What else would you want them to do? Check out the trailer below and see for yourself.

Ok, Many of us including myself love to play guitar hero. I have been playing this game for a long time, nut i have never seen someone play guitar hero to a Christmas display. Well either way you see it, i hope this awesome video puts you in the holiday spirit.

What qualities must one possess to gain such achievement at Guitar Hero? Must they be extremely focused? Or is it simply the repetition of practice that promotes such skilled hand-eye coordination? Generally, when watching a friend play Guitar Hero, one will notice the lack of blinking and severe ability to tune everything out around them—excluding the game itself. There seems to be a trance induced state that many people fall into when playing this game, and it’s mind blowing. This young man seen below, (Chris Chike), amalgamates some of these truly focused skills.

The much anticipated Band Hero was released earlier this month and the track list delivered on almost all levels. Fans of pop, rock, and alternative rock will sure to be pleased with all of the selections they have to make, but metal heads and hip hop connoisseurs will surely be disappointed. It was a conscious decision on Activision’s part to make the track list a bit more family friendly to get adults to pick up a controller. The game play is still as excellent as ever, but the song selection isn’t nowhere near as varied as previous iterations. The physical controllers have been further optimized and include all the features present in previous games, as well as aesthetic improvements. Basically, if you enjoyed all the previous Guitar Hero’s, you’ll like this one too. Nothing new here, but if it isn’t broke don’t fix it! Check out the full track list below.

It seems to be that the more video game savvy one is, the more apt they become technologically, as well. This young man has “hacked” his Guitar Hero guitar so it may be played as an instrument. Impressive!

I have posted a video of just how cool these Art Guitars really are, I am sure this is just the beginning for Guitar Hero becoming even bigger than before. The company called Art Guitar that manufactures these knew there was a demand for this type of thing, and jumped on the opportunity to produce these for the public!

Real guitars but made to play guitar hero…it doesn’t get any better than this! Art guitar takes Guitar Hero to the next level, by outfitting a real guitar with a Guitar Hero controller interface. The company leaves the guitar’s original pickup, bridge and headstock intact but guts the body and parts of the fretboard to house the buttons, pick, and whammy-bar controller. Here’s the icing on the cake: Art Guitar offers this guitar with 17 different pieces of body artwork, featuring KISS, Lynrd Skynyrd, Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, or Pantera! Guitatr Hero is getting better all the time! Unfortunately these guitars are only made for the PS2 console at the moment, however it has been said that the next generation of guitars will be coming shortly!
