Ferrari Gives Schumacher Blessing To Join Mercedes GP
The rumor mill has been spinning like crazy in regards to Michael Schumacher’s return to Formula 1 racing. First it was speculated that he would return to racing with his old team at Ferrari. Lately though it’s all been about the prospect of Schumacher racing for Mercedes. This latest development seems to further corroborate with him making the move to Mercedes built open-wheelers. Ferrari announced yesterday that if Michael wants to join Team Mercedes then they wont try to hold him back. “It’s clear that if he (Schumacher) decides to take another road our (consultancy) agreement will no longer be valid, that is logical. You can’t work with a competitor and with us at the same time” said Luca di Montezemolo, the Ferrari president, for BBC. “I still haven’t spoken to him about it. He is only a dear friend, not a team member. He is a consultant for our road cars,” he also added. Sounds like Mercedes has a pretty good chance of scoring Schumacher if he decides to return to racing at all.
