A Small Fix For A Huge Problem

Alright, we all remember Ryan Newman’s wild crash at Talladega a year ago and how bad something like that can be. So in order to stop these so called “wild rides” from happening ever again, nascar has put in place something that is rather interesting. Instead of putting in place a new spoiler or bumper or something else along those lines that the fans really wouldn’t like, they have just strapped two metal peaces together on the window in hopes that the new car will no longer be as hectic out on the track.

This new part is called the window stripe and it really is a case of a simple fix for a huge problem. In the old car, you didn’t have anything stopping the car form tipping over in a crash. But this 2 inch sheet of metal really does make a difference in keeping the car on four wheels. This part acts like a wall the makes enough wind resistance so the car will not flip over, if it ever wants to that is.
The best thing about this fix is that it will not slow the cars down, which would explain why the Daytona 500 was one of the fastest races i had ever seen.
