Switchblade PRO has mapped dozens of games to console controllers, making it possible to play PC games with, say, an XBox 360 controller. This gives gamers the chance to play with comfort and ease, instead of hunching over the keyboard for hours. One of the game blades available is for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, so we went out in search of reviews for this game. Is it worth the time or a waste of time, according to those in the know?
GameSpot: 8.5 out of 10, a GREAT rating. The reviewers scored the game highly for its player-to-player combat and for how great it looks and runs. You can read the entire review here.
Thunderbolt Games: 8 out of 10. Again, the public quests and player-vs-player options are highly rated. Overall, a “great online experience.” You can read the entire review here.
GamePlasma: 7.2 out of 10. The reviewers found the game to be a work in progress, pushing players to the player-vs-player option because of a lack of depth in other options. The final verdict was that it’s an “excellent game that lays the groundwork for something special.” You can read the entire review here.
GamingTrend: 89 out of 100. Weaknesses included slow game play and leveling, a not-great crafting system, and some bugs. Strengths included good graphics, great atmosphere and, of course, the innovative player-vs-player. You can read the entire review here.
There are lots more reviews out there, of course, but across the board, the game seems to be well-received. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning seems to be worth your time. If you decide to give it a try, don’t forget to download a free trial of Switchblade PRO so you can play it comfortably with a console controller!

Today, Switchblade PRO is the way to map your console controller to your PC games. They have blades for dozens of games, and they are currently looking for top-of-the-line gamers to become part of the Switchblade PRO team. But a couple of years ago, they were just starting out. Already, they were drawing the attention of the PC gaming community. The website MMORPG.com interviewed some of the Blue Orb guys (the company behind Switchblade PRO) in November 2007; you can read it here.
Switchblade PRO was on to something back then, and they’ve grown in leaps and bounds since. After all, as much as gamers love the games, they hate the “gamer’s hunch,” the bad (and often painful) posture that comes from sitting at the computer for hours. Switchblade PRO makes the hunch ancient computer history, right up there with five-and-a-quarter-inch floppies and dot matrix printers.
