Customer Reviews
After owning almost every generation of BD under-counter coffee makers since they started making these things, hopefully, this time, they will stay with this same basic design for a few more years. As always, I had to drill 4 more holes in the same area of my cabinet (no 2 models ever use the same mounting system) bringing the total to 28, plus a few missed marks. So far, nothing leaks, the coffee is hot, and the clock keeps time. I guess I’m lucky, but it’s only been 2 weeks. The water reservoir hole is way too small, but I suppose they have to keep it that small because its so shallow, you’d probably spill 1/2 of it before you got back to the machine. For some reason they also decided to make the world’s largest coffee decanter/handle and widest spout ever made for this unit. It is infact so large, and the clearence so close, they have a lift- to- release mechanism holding the decanter in place so you don’t send it crashing down on the counter when you pull out the giant, oversize filter basket. Because of the units “1 sided” design, and instead of the heating element and pot being in the center, despite the enormous handle and decanter, this is definitely the most space saving design to date, so I suppose there have to be some drawbacks that are unavoidable (shallow reservoir). I’ll see how it performs in 6 months before I give it another star. I’ve been down this road with BD before, but since they seem to be the only company making spacemaker appliances, there isn’t much choice.
