Cyber Monday!

Avoid The Masses, Shop On Cyber Monday!

I just love Cyber Monday! Who needs Black Friday? Black Friday is filled with thousands of people trying to get into the same store. So when Cyber Monday came along I was ecstatic. Who wants to fight traffic and other holiday shoppers?  You can shop on the Monday after Thanksgiving from the comforts of your own home.

The place I hit hardest for Cyber Monday was Deep Discount DVD. I have shopped with them for years. They already have super cheap prices on all kinds of DVDs and music. They have even expanded the site to include a bunch of new things. They now carry books; storage units for your movies, CDs, or books; vinyl records; and more. On Cyber Monday they offered up to 50% off most everything. I bought several DVDs. I did not even spend 20 bucks. You cannot beat that. I will also add they had free shipping, however with Deep Discount shipping is always free.

I also did some shopping at Amazon.com. They always have great Cyber Monday deals. You can now find almost anything at Amazon these days. They also had free shipping. I picked up a few books I have been looking at for a while.

It was so much easier and less stressful doing a little holiday shopping at home, rather than in the masses on Black Friday.

Black Friday…Not for Me…Cyber Monday…Yes Please!

Black Friday At Wal-Mart...No Thanks!

I am a girl, so I love to shop. The number one day for shopping is Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I have done the whole mall thing. You show up at the mall and stores are filled to capacity and traffic is nuts. I used to live for this, but now I just cannot handle it. I personally now like shopping online. I prefer to wait for Cyber Monday, which is the online shopping equivalent to Black Friday.

I am looking forward to seeing what Amazon has to share this year. I have been dying for a Kindle. Amazon also has a great selection of everything. I also like their selection of electronics. I am also excited to see what sales they will have on their DVDs. Now that I am bringing up DVDs, I love the online store called Deep Discount DVD. They already have a great prices. I am curious how they can top the prices they already have.

I also like to be a girlie girl and do a little clothes shoping. It’s tough for me because I am plus size. I shop at Lane Bryanta lot. They have the best selection of trendy plus size clothes. They have great deals all the time. So I am excited to see what they have in store for us on Cyber Monday.

I am so looking forward to Cyber Monday this year. Even though I will not be out in midst of things on Black Friday, I will be online looking for great deals on Cyber Monday.

Why Leave Home For Black Friday?

<a href=”http://yovia.com/blogs/blackfriday”>

Sure, I love standing in line waiting for awesome deals as much as the next person but you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to.  Amazon.com has great deals on Black Friday just like your brick and mortar stores and the good thing is that I can order items right from home. In fact, you can get free shipping if you’re a Prime member and it won’t cost you any more than if you bought the item right from a store in your town.

For instance, last year I got the most awesome thing for my brother-in-law and his wife. It was a backpack that had items for your dog such as a water bottle and carry area for all the things you’d need when taking your dog to the beach, park or on a trip. It was a Black Friday deal on Amazon so I got it at a fraction of the original cost of over $69.

They also have BluRay movies for under $10 and books galore. In fact, just about anything you can buy in a store can be found on Amazon.com and that’s why I love to shop there. And don’t forget, I can do it all from home and never stand in line!

Walmart Black Friday Deals Not as Tempting as Kmart Sales

Kmart Black Friday deals.

Walmart is usually my main target for scoring the best Black Friday deals, but this year Kmart is topping my list.

It’s not that Walmart doesn’t have great deals this year, they do. A Wii Limited Edition Blue Console is a steal for $99.96. There are many other great buys on electronics, starting at midnight.

Kmart has just as many solid Black Friday deals on electronics. A 32-inch RCA LCD HGTV for $249.99 is just one of the sweet doorbusters for 2011.

I’m not out hunting electronics deals this year though. I’m lasered in on scoring the best deals on toys, as Christmas gifts for my nephews. Normally I can cruise down Walmart’s Black Friday toy stack-outs and grab something for everyone, but this years sales on boy’s toys are disappointing.

Kmart will have Lego and Magic sets for 50 percent off. A laser dueling system or bug maker can be scored for $14.99. A Trio Hot Wheels Stunt Ramp Builder will only be $24.99.

There are also a few things on sale a Kmart this Black Friday that I wouldn’t mind snapping up for myself. They will have the best deal on king-sized comforters, priced at $9.99. An electric oak fireplace is a steal at $88.99. The billiards table, for $189.99, would look great in my garage.

Deals on Downhill Skis

I love looking at and buying downhill skis for years.

As an avid skier, I’ve had many pairs of skis. From the old 210 Kastles (knee breakers) to my new K-2s, I have had many different pairs.

Skis come in many different styles

Skis come in many different styles

This is the thing I have learned:

In certain markets, skis are over-supplied. This typically happens in resort area where rental shops buy new skis each year.

Check for ski swaps beginning around mid-August in places like Salt Lake City or Sugarbush.

Hot Item of 2009 – Zhu Zhu Pet

Zhu Zhu yourself right down to Walmart to buy your kids a Zhu Zhu pet. Or you can buy one on Amazon, but you better do so quickly. The manufacturer may not be able to keep up with the demand. These laid back surfing hamsters are apparently the latest rage.

Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Num Nums

Not only are 2009 Black Friday sales stimulating our economy, they are being driven by big screen TVs and a new pet – the Zhu Zhu pet.

Time Magazine reported that 2009 Black Friday sales were bustling.

Retailers across the board reported strong crowds early Friday, with high-definition televisions, laptops, winter coats and the popular toy Zhu-Zhu pets among the hottest items. “There were bargain-hungry shoppers out there, and retailers really did pull out all the stops for people,” says Kathy Grannis, a spokesperson for the National Retail Federation, noting that many of the day’s hot item carried the steepest discounts.

Text Santa

As it turns out, the town in the North Pole that had been handling Letters to Santa is now refusing them. Apparently, it’s just too much mail.

There is good news! Santa now has text messaging. You can schedule custom text messages from Santa!
