I have lots of grocery lists. I have the sticky note in my pocket with a half-dozen things scribbled on it, I have the looseleaf scrap in my purse with a few more things on it, and I have a couple of things in my head that I will probably forget the second I set foot in the grocery store (seriously, what is it about walking into the grocery store that causes instant amnesia??).

When I got home and took inventory of the kitchen, I realized what I had not been able to read: MILK. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my handwriting was so bad that I couldn’t make out the word “milk” on my list. I had to go BACK to the store, costing time and gas, to get the milk plus the other things I had forgotten.
