Are Outlet Malls Really A Good Deal?

Friday, August 13th, 2010

The closest outlet mall from my home is about 40 minutes away and whenever I’ve gone, the mall is packed. Not the basic crowding of a mall, but the kind where you can barely walk and forget trying to turn around – especially with a stroller. The lines are long, the cafe has no seats left, but yet everyone looks so – happy. Is it the great deals that everyone is snagging and I’m happening to miss?

Dealing with outlet malls is not always easy, but the main question is if they really offer the great deals that they say they do. What I’ve found is that many outlet malls have name-brand stores, such as Nike, Adidas, Coach, and Gymboree, so prices are going to be a bit higher from the get-go. So yes, outlet malls can offer great deals off this higher end merchandise, but you can still catch the same prices, if not lower, if you head to a department store sale or clearance event.

What I have found about outlet malls is that people who shop there know how to shop there! Many of the stores carry overstock or older merchandise that they’re itching to get rid of, so these clothes can be purchased for a fraction of the price. Plus, outlet malls carry plenty of goodies that have never been featured in stores, as well as merchandise that have minor, almost invisible imperfections. These are the best products to look for, some that can be purchased for a few dollars.

Even better, you never have to wait for a sale at an outlet mall, since everything is always on sale. And if you happen to hit an additional sale or clearance event, there’s more money to be saved. So next time I hit the outlet mall, I’ll know how to shop a little smarter. While not everything is necessarily a spectacular deal, if you look between the featured racks, you’ll see there’s some awesome prices waiting to be found.

Are Replica Bags Worth the Hype?

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Women love their purses. Not only are they totally fashionable, but purses make a strong presence and represent their carrier’s personality and trendsetting qualities. While it’s not uncommon to see women toting around Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Chanel purses, chances are, it’s not you. As a mother of a one year old (and one on the way!), I find myself longing for an upscale Storksak that Brangelina has been seen toting around. But with young kids and a tight budget, there’s only one way to compromise: a Replica handbag.

Replica purses and handbags are replicas of designer bags, but are quite different than the knock-offs that people often think of. Replicas are closely matched to their designer bags and when done correctly, it can be difficult to tell the two apart. They are a great way to save money, while still toting around a designer bag of your choice. If you can find a reputable company that offers excellent craftsmanship, you won’t be disappointed. Here’s what to look for:

  • Choose a company that uses quality materials, such as calf leather.
  • Look for quality craftsmanship in every detail, including the material, hardware, stamps, monograms and locks.
  • The handbag should be an exact replica, so it should look like its designer bag from top to bottom, with all the same details.
  • Although Replica bags are a fraction of the price of designer bags, be ready to invest a bit of money. You are still buying a quality-made purse that is built to last, so you can’t expect to walk off for $20.

How does Marshalls and TJMaxx get such great deals?

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

We have all had that kind of moment when we shop, you go into a really pricey store and buy something you like, only to find it in a store such as TJMaxx or Marshalls for a lot less. Going through this kind of thing makes a lot of us wonder, how does a store like Marshalls or TJMaxx sell clothing at such low prices and still make money? One word people, Closeouts.

The one thing that differentiates stores like Marshalls and TJMaxx to expensive ones such as Macy’s is how they get their merchandise. See when Macy’s gets a shipment of new product, they put it out on the floor of the store and try to sell it as quick as possible. If it doesn’t sell, they want to replace it with something that will yet they do not want to lose all their money that they put into the new line. So the store owners sell the unwanted merchandise to stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls at very low prices compared to what they bought them for in an effort to recuperate their losses.

This is where the great deals come into play. See Marshalls and TJMaxx transfer the savings that they made from the normal department stores to you, so you basically get new clothing for deep discounted products. So if you just happen to be looking around for some great deals on perfectly good clothing, go to these stores, the deals are right in front of you.

Class Room Moms Look No Further – Here Are Some Deals For You

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Coming from a family who has a great history in teaching kids, there is nothing better for a teacher then finding a great deal on something that you really need. Things such as pencil sharpeners, pens, even themed things for Halloween and Easter parties, all of these are things that school teachers can use in order to keep their students focused. Now if you are a teacher who wants to take advantage of some great deals, you need to go to HJ closeouts for more of your school supplies shopping.

You know, two things that I think teachers today need most are right at HJ closeouts on sale every day. It really surprises me how teachers can spend 5 or 6 dollars a pack for pens when they could get the same ones for .40 cents a pack. That is a great deal to me! Plus, with a minimum purchase of 25 boxes, you won’t need any more pens for a while but at a great deal, who matters how many you buy? It still costs lest then buying one pack of pens at Office Depot.

HJ Closeouts also has many other great deals for teachers other than buying pens. Rulers for example are an essential part of math in the class room and are on sale at HJ closeouts. These rulers cost three to five dollars at places such as Walmart but are only.15 cents at HJ closeouts. Here you can buy enough to make sure that every student has what he or she needs to be successful in the classroom.
