i miss the fiesta
INTERESTS No Comments »Dear Blogary,
April 22 every year is the fiesta of my hometown. Last year, the first Panugbong Festival was created and this 2010 would be the 2nd celebration. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend and witness the festivity.
April 22 is also the celebration of the 40th Earth Day thus a lot of various events were lined up in Bacolod and that included the mall where I worked. I handled the publicity so there was no way for me to be absent from the happenings. I did not file for a vacation leave as I already availed of it during the holy week.
Anyway, my son was having his vacation with the grannies in our old home so he was our family’s representative in the fiesta. Most of the visitors were relatives and friends who were expecting to see old faces at the barrio. There was also a majong table for eager players.
Scenes at the recent fiesta taken by my cousin Ariel:

I was sad I wasn’t at my hometown’s fiesta. I missed the food, the fest and most of all the people. Last year, our whole family were all there and it was extra fun to be witnessing your own barrio’s celebration improved! The streetdancing and the colorful costumes and lively performance was a sight!
So I promise, next year – I’ll surely be there!
