back to work

Dear Blogary,

After 5 days of vacation leave, I was back in Bacolod to prepare myself to work. I did a lot of errands yesterday which started off with requesting for a certification that English is the medium of instruction of the school where my husband graduated. I needed this for our visa application so I went to John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation for the first time. The process was smooth and quick and I got the certificate right away.

Together with my daughter, we then proceeded to the mall to have her playstation portable (PSP) reformatted and uploaded with new games however the store will be charging us P100 for every 3 games so we did not push through the plan. I thought we could avail free of charge because I bought the PSP from their store.  A total of 29 games could be stored in Jill’s and it would be very expensive for me to pay P900 for new games.

Then we met our new nanny and did the grocery.  We immediately headed to EC Montessori after to enroll Jill and Jolo for the next school year. I admitted Jolo in the Preparatory afternoon class to try a new schedule. I believed it would be better for him to spend his afternoon in the classroom as he got bored alone at home after classes.

We did general home clean up when we arrived at the house. I guided the new nanny on how to do things and what to do firsts. So far, Ate Arlyn was okay. I was thankful I found a helper who could assists me with household chores and most especially look after the kids and the house when I was at work.

Dear Blogary,

I woke up just on time as planned at 9:30 in the morning. I wanted to get a good sleep since it was my rest day and work days usually spoiled my whim to slumber. I ate breakfast with the kids before I started my day’s itinerary: I washed the laundry which had been stacked for 3 days because our all around nanny went home 3 days ago and was not coming back anymore and I swept the floor, dusted appliances and furniture which were left uncleaned 3 days because our all around nanny went home 3 days ago and was not coming back anymore.

While I was doing these, I told the kids to take a shower by themselves, dress up themselves and watch television until I finished the household chores. They were used to doing them with the assistance of a nanny but I did not hear a complain until Jill reported that Jolo insisted on turning on the electric fan which she did not like because she already readied her hair for their school’s occasion. So to solve the conflict, I advised my daughter to get inside our room instead and chat with  aunt Joy as I left my laptop running with facebook and yahoo open. That worked.

The time went fast we had to take our lunch and change clothes for Jill and Jolo’s school’s commencement exercises. How times flew, they were already moving up to the next level. Jill will be in grade one while Jolo will go to preparatory class next school year. I was proud and the kids were happy for their awards. My daughter received helpful, cooperative and industrious ribbons while Jolo got outstanding in art, inquisitive, courteous, sportsmanship,  and cooperative.

I am proud of them!

It was 5 p.m. when the activity ended. I felt like staying at home but realized that it would be best bring them to the mall and treat them to digital theater, the newest technology in Bacolod right now. We ate at Chowking first before proceeding to watch the 3D of How To Train Your Dragon movie.

T’was heartwarming seeing your kids enjoy and really liking what they were doing. All though out the 3D movie, they wowed for the effects of flying dragons – it was a whole new experience for them to be wearing glasses and watching amazing visuals. We then went home with Jill and Jolo talking about what color of a dragon they would like to get for a pet.

Well, it had been a long and worthwhile day for me. And it felt really good!
