Tea Parties: meaningless rage?
David McCormick wrote an interesting post about Wednesday’s “tea parties”, the protests that occurred all over the country on tax day. The protests were a response to government spending, or over-spending. I get it. I get the anger. I get that we’re in a recession, and that people are angry at the way their hard-earned dollars are being spent. But… tea parties? I’m not sure what the point is, other than letting out a little rage. The problem is that the protests weren’t focused on any particular piece of legislation or action. The protests were not trying to change or stop anything in specific. Without a goal, I think they were a flash in the pan.
