This Vantec NexStar is fantastic. I purchased the unit, got it in a few days, followed the simple directions installing the 2 hard drives I had already. Took less then 5 minutes. I hooked it up to my iMac via firewire 800, and configured the drives to a mirror array. It shows up on my desktop as a single drive. I have been using the unit everyday backing up all my work for a few months and haven’t had any issues. I bought one last year and that one is full, but keeps going strong. I feel secure in knowing that if one of the disks fail, I can replace it and the unit will rebuild itself back into a mirror array. Easy to use and easy to setup.
