Kanye West is already appologizing for jumping on stage at last nights’ VMA awards. The outburst at the ‘anything goes’ award show may have crossed the line.

NME.com Reports:

The rapper-producer objected after the singer won the Best Female Video award for ‘You Belong To Me’ ahead of Beyonce‘s ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’.

West took to the stage towards the end of the singer’s speech, echoing his protest when he lost out to Justice at MTV‘s European awards in 2006.

“Now Taylor I’m really happy for you, I let you finish,” he declared. “Now Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

Here is my question – isn’t it time we all realized these award shows are just that – shows. Nobody wins because they are the best. The winners and nominees are a strategic collection of artists who will help ratings, drive web traffic and whatever else will help the struggling Viacom (NYSE:VIA.B)

It appears the artists may be taking cues from the music network, and using these shows to do whatever it takes to get attention. Maybe we should boycott the industry! Maybe it’s time to go back to the art and soul and music.

Mashable has a great article about the incident…

I found Sen. Diane Black trending on Google Trends. It turns out her aid sent around a racist email to everyone…

Newscoma posted details of a racist email sent from Sherri Goforth, legislative aid for Sen. Diane Black (R-Gallatin). The email depicts the Presidents of the United States with President Barack Obama as a pair of eyes in a black background.

I spoke with Sherri Goforth minutes ago to confirm she sent this email. She confirmed she had sent it and also said she had received a letter of reprimand from her superiors but said she will stay on the job.

When I asked her if she understood the controversial nature of the photo, Goforth would only say she felt very bad about accidentally sending it to the wrong list. When I gave her a second chance to address the controversial nature of the email, she again repeated that she only felt bad about sending it to the wrong list of people.

“I went on the wrong email and I inadvertently hit the wrong button,” Goforth told NIT. “I’m very sick about it, and it’s one of those things I can’t change or take back.”

Here is more from Newscoma:

Dammit, Tennessee, haven’t we moved past this kind of crap. I’m serious.

Leaders and their staffs need to be just that. LEADERS! And they have done a pretty suspect job this year if you ask me.

We live in a world of uncertainty and a lot of hurt. In Tennessee, it’s more important to pass dog bills than the budget. But, I guess we can find the time to send out junk, racist emails. Jeez.

These images and racist imagery matter.
