What’s Abuzz in College Football

What’s the latest buzz in college football, you ask? Who should we be keeping our watchful eyes on? Well, you may be pleased to know that West Virginia’s Mountaineers have (finally) received an official invitation from the Big 12.

That’s right! That means the conference will be back to 10 teams as Missouri gets ready for a chance to the SEC. Don’t get too excited, at least not right now. It’s a fact that the Mountaineers cannot actually leave until 2014 due to conference requirements. According to Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports, the conference requires 27 months notice prior to leaving the league.

Regardless, the Big 12 will continue to maintain their automatic qualifying status. Besides, a grace period would only prove beneficial to the Big East as it would allow the conference some additional time to work on special recruitment, such as the likes of Air Force and Boise State.

In the meantime, keep your watchful eyes on the performance of the much talked about players such as DE Mario Edwards, WR Dorial Green-Beckham and DE Arik Armstead. All three have been listed, in various publications, as ranking number one in the country and number one overall as players. Let’s wait and see!
