Sugar? The next Gasoline

That’s right, if a new fuel cell idea takes off you could be refueling your car with sugar rather then with gas. Now i know that this idea seems a little out there, but it is for real with designers and big companies with big interests.
Now the idea that we are talking about here solves a big problem with fuel cells. If you travel any lengthy distance you will need a big heavy tank under pressure which never really worked.
Now this new idea uses glucose (which is a fancy name for sugar) and a platinum catalyst to produce hydrogen to run the car. This a huge breakthrough for fuel cells because most other ideas similar to this have operating temps of over 1000 degrees, where the sugar tank works around  a more comfortable 400.
This idea has even caught the attention of Chrysler. While they are interested, they clam that the amount of corn needed to run all of Americas fleet of cars would be a lot, but if a business like Chrysler is interested and will invest, then sooner or later sugar will be fueling our cars, and ourselves.

The Car Of Tommorow

The honda FCX clarity, the name doesn’t really ring a bell does it? It might be  because Hondas new alternitve fuel powerd car is only available in californa. But putting this aside, I belive that the Claritty is the one of the worlds most importaint car ever invented sicne the car was.

This isn’t because it has space thrusters, or a warp drive, or something crazy that you might find on other alterntive powerd cars. No, i Belive that the clarity is importaint because it looks and runs like a car.Now this might not seem like anything importaint, but for a car that runs on hydrogen its a big deal. Just think about all of the other alternitve fuel cars. Most are plugings that take forever to charge and take forever to go anywhere. This is where the Clarity shines. when ever you run out of gas, you just pull up to the Hydrogen filling staion, and fill the car up like you would with a gas powered one.

Now thats  a big deal for everone who supports alternitve fuels, and drives. You see, we have built our lives around the car as we know it. And sadly we will run out of gasoline one day, so we need something else to get us from point a to point b. And if this replacement is something that can only go 40 miles and takes a day to charge, we would have gone backwords. That is why the clarity is so improtanit, not because its the car of tommorow, but becasue its just like the car of today.

Gasohol

Gasohol is a blend of gasoline and ethanol. You are probably putting it in your car without realizing it. The most common blend of ethanol is called E10, which is about 90 percent gasoline and 10 percent ethanol by volume. All modern non diesel cars are certified to run on a blend of up to 10 percent. Now what is a modern non diesel car? That is not something I could get cleared up. Is my old bronco going to be damaged if I put gasohol in it? My bet is yes. Check your gas to see if you are getting more ethanol than gasoline, it should be posted where you purchase your gas. the standard ethanol content is 10 percent but it can be as high as 89! Just be aware of what kind of fuel you are putting into your car and whether or not it is the right fuel for you.
