Hydrogen Fuel

Friday, December 11th, 2009

It is no secret our fossil fuel is running out. What is going to happen if we use it all up? Are we going to stop using cars, planes, and trains? We have gotten so accustomed to the way we live our lives we can not change and probably no one wants to either. Something has to change. What do we do? Hydrogen Fuel Technology is the answer. When Hydrogen is powered by wind or water it is a clean, efficient, and renewable fuel.

Sugar? The next Gasoline

Monday, September 14th, 2009

That’s right, if a new fuel cell idea takes off you could be refueling your car with sugar rather then with gas. Now i know that this idea seems a little out there, but it is for real with designers and big companies with big interests.
Now the idea that we are talking about here solves a big problem with fuel cells. If you travel any lengthy distance you will need a big heavy tank under pressure which never really worked.
Now this new idea uses glucose (which is a fancy name for sugar) and a platinum catalyst to produce hydrogen to run the car. This a huge breakthrough for fuel cells because most other ideas similar to this have operating temps of over 1000 degrees, where the sugar tank works around  a more comfortable 400.
This idea has even caught the attention of Chrysler. While they are interested, they clam that the amount of corn needed to run all of Americas fleet of cars would be a lot, but if a business like Chrysler is interested and will invest, then sooner or later sugar will be fueling our cars, and ourselves.
