White Goat Toilet Paper Machine

This idea looks like something that would be in one of those old “World of Tomorrow!” exibits from the 50′s. The White Goat is a handy little machine of Japanese (who else?) creation that turns ordinary office scratch paper into a roll of toilet paper. It does this by taking shredded paper material and dissolving it in water. Afterwards it is thinned, dried out, and wound into rolls of toilet paper. The whole process is said to only take about half an hour and only costs $0.11 per roll. It takes upwards of 40 sheets of paper to create a roll of toilet paper, but that adds up quick especially in an office environment. The biggest catch is the price point. At an average of $100,000 U.S. Dollars it is just a little too expensive right now to be cost-effective. It also takes up quite a bit of space. I see this becoming a normal installation in corporate offices once it becomes more affordable, it would be a great eco-conscious investment.

How about the chemical residuals of the process? How are they disposed?

Taking them into account, is the whole thing really eco-friendly?
