Augmented Reality Makeup Applicator
I’m not an expert on makeup by any stretch but I can see how having to try on dozens of different makeup samples to see what looks best can be annoying. Not to mention time consuming. The Digital Cosmetic Mirror at the Takashimaya department store in Tokyo attempts to solve this problem by taking a digital scan of your face and allowing you to apply various types of makeup. It essentially lets you know what you would look like if you bought certain products. It can also give you makeup suggestions and tips based on the shape of your facial features, your skin color, and your hair color. What’s truly impressive is that this piece of tech is already out and fully functioning. It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing devices like this Stateside. What do you think? Is this a practical device? Or do you see it as another kooky Japanese creation?
