The latest thing coming to the market since the iPad 2 is the Blackberry Playbook. It was released on April 19th in the US and Canada. It offers so much power in such a small package: 1 GHZ dual core processor, 7 inch touch screen, dual camera, bluetooth, video recording, and 1 GB of RAM. I am sure the Blackberry Playbook is trying to hop on the boat with others like iPad, iPad 2, and Android. But is it worth its price tag?
If you are looking for something with the same power as an iPad or iPad 2 but smaller the Blackberry Playbook is an option. It stands at 5.1 inches tall, 7.6 inches wide, and .04 inches thick. It offers a crystal clear high resolution screen. It has a great 10 hour battery life even if running a bunch of components at once. Speakers are awesomely crystal clear.
There are very few negatives with Playbook. But they could be crucial so pay attention. The usual additions of every tablet like native e-mail, calendar, or contacts are nonexistent unless you go through Blackberry Bridge which connects your Blackberry through a bluetooth connection. This item only works with Windows. It has also been said, and I am guessing because this is Blackberry’s first tablet, it does not have the abundance of apps that others have.
All in all the Blackberry Playbook isn’t such a bad find. However let’s discuss the real topic: the price. There is a model with 16 GB and Wifi for $499. Then there is the higher end 64 GB model; it retails for $699. So they are pretty neck and neck in price with the iPads. The choice of which tablet to buy is basically weighing what you are looking for. Click the link below for more information.
The Playstation 3 is an awesome game console for when you’re at home. I’m pretty much addicted, and not afraid to admit it. Only problem is that it doesn’t travel easily, because it has to be plugged in, and you can’t make calls from it. That’s why I’m so excited about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Playstation Phone.
The phone has a sleek, contoured design with a nice four inch touchscreen and a 5 mega pixel camera with flash. However, the most exciting feature is that the phone doubles as an on-the-go Playstation. When you slide the phone up, it reveals a built in gaming console with game part style controls and shoulder buttons, and two touch pads just like a regular Playstation 3 controller.Â
As well as being a gaming device, this is also an amazing phone. It is powered by Android — this means tons of customization, apps and widgets. With five different home screens, you can check your Facebook, write a blog, check the weather and play a game all at the same time.
This phone is the complete package. It provides the optimum gaming experience, with the intelligence of the Android and an awesome camera. The phone is to be released sometime in the spring. I can’t wait!
I do keep up to date with the latest technology so when I do get to the point of purchase I will know right off the bat what I want. I have taken the liberty to compare the iPad and iPad 2 for you for those who can afford it now and would like to know what you are getting for your money.
Now for all the differences there are some similarities between the two iPads. First off the display and resolution will essentially be the same. 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. Also the same is WiFi and Bluetooth.
Now for the changes – are you excited? I am! The sleek white look of the iPad 1 will now be offered in black with the iPad 2. The processor was bumped up from 1GHZ to 1GHZ dual- core processor. They have managed to make the new iPad not only sleeker but lighter. The new iPad has not one camera but two. You have your usual webcam as with the original iPad but the iPad 2 took it a step further with an extra camera that has superb recording capabilities.
It also has a 10 hour battery. You can open and close the iPad 2 without putting it to sleep; it does it all on its own. There are two times the apps with the new iPad. Now, I saved the best for last: the cost of the new iPad 2 is the same as the iPad 1. iPad 2 is due to hit the market March 11th, starting price $499.

Nokia is always surprising me with their futuristic technology. And their new idea has just left me completely astounded. Their newest idea is called “The Morph”, this is (in my opinion) the most advanced way to use nanotechnology.
Basically The Morph is made out of fibril proteins that are woven together like that of a spider’s web. This structure type helps to allow the device to bend or fold in to many various ways such as a cellphone, PDA, Bluetooth headset, and even a smart watch. This new technology could easily spread to other electrical device designers, especially because of its ability to recharge itself using solar power and clean itself. If what I’m saying doesn’t seem real take a look at the video or take a look at Nokia’s site.

Believe it or not there are some people out there who still use standard old bar phones or cool looking flip phones, instead of actual smartphones. It’d be kind of hard for me to imagine living life without a smartphone, just because it does almost everything my life calls for, like work, school, and my personal life. If you still do not believe that these phones have the capabilities to do so much then you should take a look at HTC.com. The HTC phone company makes some of the most amazing smartphones in the world ranging from the HTC Touch Pro 2 to the HTC Hero.
Each of these phones are from HTC, and each are amazing devices. Also if you are one of those type of people who hate having the same phone as one of your friends don’t worry, because HTC has a wide range of phone that are all unique in some way.

This is a new gizmo I feel was invented solely for my use. While in the shower it is easy to lose track of time, especially on those slow mornings where the hot water could not feel any better. After a while though your excess time spent in the shower means higher water bills and no one really wants to pay more bills do they? That’s why the Waterpebble water saver is so handy. This little device sits next to your drain in your shower and monitors your water usage, using small red, yellow, and green LEDs to let you know how timely your showers are.
Once it monitors your first shower it will then slowly reduce your shower time over the course of the next few weeks. It gently flashes to let you know when you should be wrapping up your shower, and if you heed its warnings, you will start saving money on your water bill in no time! I personally can’t wait to figure out an easier way to get these stateside as the website is UK-based and I currently have no means of converting my currency into pounds. You can check it out for yourself here.

The Skinput has one of the most amazing and science fiction-oriented input methods I have ever seen. This awesome device straps to your arm and recognizes what parts of your body you are tapping on. It then uses piezoelectric cantilevers to measure the pressure and acceleration of your taps and manipulates the interface accordingly. If you want to get real high tech you could strap a pico projector to your arm as well and even display and manipulate the interface on your skin! This technology is being developed by Carnegie Mellon University and Microsoft but it is still in the development stage. You can bet technology this cool is going to be integrated into consumer products soon enough though. The Skinput could be useful in numerous fields too such as internet access, phone calling, gaming, and could even be used as a wireless input field. Just watch the video below and see for yourself. You can’t tell me you wouldn’t want to try this thing on. Welcome to the future!

This is power-pop group OK GO’s new video for their song “This Too Shall Pass”. The video features the most amazing Rube Goldberg machine I have ever seen set in motion. Just look at the sheer size of the warehouse this thing was built in. The machine was built by an amazing group consisting of Mindshare Labs, Caltech, and MIT Medialab wizards and took a number of days to put together. I do believe this is the most complicated Rube Goldeberg machine ever recorded on video. If there is a better one, please feel free to leave a link in the comments. Personally, I am not a huge fan of OK GO but this is one of the coolest large scale gadgets I have seen in a while. If you are interested in seeing how this behemoth was made (who wouldn’t?) check out this 4 part video series detailing the creation and see just how involved OK GO are in their videos.

To be honest, I am one of those people who is really into sites like Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter. So whenever a new device or idea helps promote these sites usually I am on board. The only exception is this thing called Recognizr and it is the creepiest thing I have ever seen in my life. Could you picture the kind of world we would live in if this type of technology was available to everyone? I picture a lot more stalkers coming out of the woodwork.
