Dry Hair Care

Increasing the frequency of good hair days can be as simple as using the right conditioner for your hair. A lot of people don’t know why they have good hair days or bad hair days but it usually has a lot to do with how dry your hair is. When your hair becomes dry it starts taking on a somewhat stringy looking appearance. This is because the strands of your hair are made up of tiny shingles, not unlike a roof, and when they become dry they become ragged looking. Combating this is as simple as choosing the correct conditioner. If your hair is extra dry try using a conditioner with something on the label along the lines of for dry hair or for frizzy hair or for controlling frizz. These conditioners are generally more thick than your typical conditioner and will repair your hair over the course of the next few days. If you hair is extra damaged from over-zealous grooming with heated products or excessive coloring you may need to suck it up and cut the damaged portions off. Consult your hairdresser in these situations. You should absolutely never use hot grooming tools or hair dye on extremely damaged hair. If your hair is not necessarily damaged but is still looking a little frizzy try using a few drops of safflower oil in your hair. Massage it into your hair from the tips working down to your scalp. This is a great natural hair care tip that your friends won’t even be able to notice.
