Peter is my brother-in-law who is in Afghanistan right now and is coming home in June or July of this year. Thank goodness it is so soon, but luckily he is pretty tough. Everybody please keep him in your prayers, because the conditions he has to face and is living in are not comfortable to say the least.  He calls home pretty often which is so awesome.  Peter, we all love you and miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frosty in Florida..

FL, News View Comments

A little late for a white Christmas, but the past couple of days there has been ice and frost everywhere in the morning! I never knew this would be possible in the supposed sunny Florida. Temperatures have been in the 50′s at night, also lowering to the 40′s, and it is expected to go down to the 30′s and even 20′s as well. NOOO!! As an Arizona girl a majority of my life, I am very accustomed to the heat. Not to mention I do not get great circulation or something, because I am usually pretty cold no matter how ‘hot’ it is.

The cold front has had some real serious drawbacks as well, such as threatening the life of many crops, creating a huge problem for farmers and the economy.

The frost is really pretty and a change in the usual plain cold mornings, and the pictures I took from our yards are pretty nice. I love Florida!!

“A date which will live in infamy.” -FDR

These words were spoken by Franklin D. Roosevelt at 12:30pm on December 8, 1941. December 7th was such a tragedy when Japanese military planes surprise attacked a US Naval Station in Hawaii, where 19 NAVY ships were sunk or badly damaged, more than 2,300 military personnel were killed, 1,170 were wounded, and more than 70 civilians were killed during this attack. This was the start of the most devastating war in all of history. Let us not forget these men and women who were fighting to keep communism and war out of our country.

Today Washington held a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Pearl Harbor Memorial in remembrance of this event.

I would totally want to be a B.A. REVGEAR Professional Fighter, I mean they get intense!  Plus their training is AWESOME, and keeps you in shape.  I would love to have this sponsorship and everything, but I should probably start practicing my moves.  My little brother was really great at martial arts, I will live up to hi someday, haha.

Pole Dancing Becoming So Mainstream, They Made a Doll!!

Crazy, News View Comments

polldancingdollWhen I very first heard about this doll I almost threw up, and I still feel sick to my stomach.  What the heck?!?!  As I looked more into it, I found a reinforcement of this trend backed up by the number 1 pop star herself, Miley Cyrus.  I am just really angry, because she can grow up at least at some other event, not pole dance at the teen choice awards in front of kids who now will be spending all of their free time trying to perfect their pole dancing tricks in front of the mirror.  Even more upsetting, seeing a video of her little nine-year old sister and her other little friends dancing around stripper poles at a groen up party before the Teen Choice Awards.

Please just teach your daughters and sons self-respect.  You can’t stop what the media puts out there, but you can be their biggest influence.  Remember that you need to show your own self respect as well, and it is never too late to start.  Things are just getting way too out of control.

Confession of a Bank Robbery, and a Refund

Freedom..

A California robber confesses of stealing money from the Walnut Creek branch of the Patelco Credit Union to a priest last week.  Even more, he then handed over $1,200 in cash, after which the Priest called the police.  The man is still a mystery today, and the money has been returned to the bank.  I liked this story, because it seems somebody who genuinely regretted a mistake was able to fix it, and will hopefully appreciate this second chance by living a better life(:

555lb 14 year-old Boy

This lady is totally full of bullhonkey, and I do not want to totally spill all of the irritation I am feeling.  I am sure you will understand on your own.

Children are the most hit area when it comes to obesity. According to childhood obesity statistics, if the parents of the child have been obese when they were small, the child has almost an 80% chance of being the same.

I Disagree With the Banning of Flavored Tobacco Products

More In Life, News View Comments

Starting off, I am a complete non-smoker supporter, I know how bad it is for people and so it makes me sad to see when people do it.  On the other hand, I am not the only person who knows the risks and terrible side effects of smoking.  In fact, there is not a single person who does not know it is bad for you when they started, which makes it solely their lifestyle choice and responsibility .

On Monday, June 22, 2009, President Barack Obama signed a legislation in which banned the sale of candy and fruit flavored tobacco.  I am glad that there is an acknowledgment on the deadly effects of tobacco, and I am glad that they are trying to prevent kids from doing it.

I feel this is actually restricting the rights of legal adult smokers who have made this choice.  They may very much enjoy a flavored cigarette, and they have every right to.  As we have clearly seen, kids have started smoking from very young ages, probably since man started smoking, but definitely since before there were flavored cigarettes.  Another point, I think it is great that Obama is trying to quit, but it did not take a flavored cigarette to get him to light up, and keep at it.

As a comparison of now and back in the 70′s, smoking is not really advertised to kids, it is so much better than it was which is great.  I have always known that smoking was bad since I was little, and it makes me feel very uncomfortable knowing that this right was taken away from every adult because of something that is unpreventable.  I think that maybe soon enough one of my rights may be taken away that I think I should have.  If we see rights being taken away from us right before our eyes, when will it stop..?

MJ Passes Yesterday..

Crazy, News View Comments

I first became familiar with Michael Jackson in about the 4th grade, 1999-2000 school year.  There was a whole Michael Jackson music video marathon, and I sat and watched totally glued to the TV.  Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough and Thriller, awesome.  I loved it so much.  I also knew of him when he was little and was cute singing the ABC’s song with the Jackson 5.

A few years later there was all of the nonsense about his skin and surgeries and I wasn’t sure what was true and what was a lie, but I really did not care about what he did to his own body.  I did feel bad that he was so unhappy with himself.  When things started happening with the little boys I then lost interest and I felt terrible about what he was doing.  This did not make his old music any less great, I just definitely did not like him as anymore.

Yesterday, June 25, 2009, at about 2:30 pm, 50 year old Michael was pronounced dead in the UCLA Medical Center by the La Police Department.  The only reason this police force, known for dealing with drug dealers and robberies, was handling this was because it was such a high profile death.  So many people were there and are upset because of this, so they needed a strong force to keep the crowd under control.

So, an end has come to an internationally recognized star.  Goodbye, MJ.
