It seems that problems that other reviewers mentioned have been addressed by Logitech with this product. I was a bit hesitant given the price point on this item and some of the concerns, but it seemed to best fit my needs compared to other products. I am quite pleased with the purchase. I have a 15.6″ Dell laptop and it has more than enough room for it. I imagine a 17″ laptop could fit easily also.
The product came with a protective film covering the trey, another wrapping of plastic over the entire apparatus and then an open-ended cardboard box wrapped around the center of that, so there were no marks or scratches on the product.
The slipperiness of the top seems to have been addressed by four press-on rubberized feet that are included with the lapdesk. Logitech provides a paper mat with four openings in it for the feet: you line up the mat with the desktop, press the feet on the desk through the pre-cut holes, and voila! No slipperiness. I almost did not apply them since I didn’t think it would be a problem, but I thought I’d try them out. They provide a firm surface for my PC. There is occasional minor slippage, but nothing in the least probematic.
The lapdesk only has room for a laptop, so if you want a mouse, you’ll want a different desk. However, I wanted something so I could sit or recline on the couch and type and it works wonderfully for that. The desk is very sturdy and the padding is very comfortable for the legs. You will feel the heat emit from the laptop as it vents, but you would feel that I believe with any type of desk that allows the PC to vent properly. Your legs can get a little warm, but nothing uncomfortable.
This is not well suited for travel given the size, but I highly recommend it for home use. I definitely feel like my money was well spent on this.

I spent a lot of time researching these stands on Amazon and finally decided to purchase this one. It does what it promises to do. My 32″ LCD TV sits comfortably on it, and the DVD player is right underneath. So far we havent seen any bouncing. If you experience bouncing, make sure you have it set up the right way. The curvy legs should be in the back, not in front.
Also, Amazon has the dimension all wrong. The dimension they listed are for the junior stand, not this one. This one is way bigger. Its better if you go to Allsop website and take a look at the stands as well as dimension before you purchase.
Last but not least, it looks like Amazon sends us one that has been returned by someone else. It doesnt have any dents or big scratches, but doesnt mean you cannot notice. Im not gonna take points off of the product, because this is a seller issue. But I thought you should be aware of this.

Have had this for several months now & it does the job. Used to hold laptop on lap with pillow & noticed how warm both became. Lots of air flow now & easier to type on computer now. Be careful which position you put the stand as on occasion the adjustable “leg” pops out of the plastic hinges. So far it’s just a matter of pressing the leg back in place without any damage to the hinges.
