Murder over Pro-Choice

obese_pregnant_womenAbortion. This is one of today’s most argued social issues. To legalize or not to, that is the question. With a country divided nearly 50/50 how can a decision be made? But acitvists on both sides are still fighting tooth and nail for what they believe is right.

On Sunday, this issue reached a new penical of panic with the brutal slaying of George Tiller. He was one of a handfull of abortion doctors who performed this procedure late in the pregnancy. Tiller was no stranger to the battle over abortion. He had been performing abortions for many years and had already had many run-ins with violent extremists. Shelley Shannon shot him in both arms in 1993. Angry protestors practically lived outside of his place of business and on May 31st he was gunned down in a church in Witchita Kansas.

This brutal display of violence has sent a shock through both sides of the highly polarized conflict. Already this summer promises to be a controversial one as Congress gets ready to battle it out over this issue.

Personally I am appalled at the events that took place. A man’s life was ended all because of a difference in beliefs. Tiller offered an    killer-tillernecessary evil and a world that requires such a thing. Women have a right to their body and whatever lives inside of it. Whatever your personal views on abortion that only should come through in what you decide to do. Give people the option to have an abortion and let them deal with the consquences, whether good or bad. If you are Pro-choice, make your choice but to not flaunted before those that disagree. If you are Pro-life, let your beliefs show through in your action and leave others to their choice. Though it is legal you do not have to take part of it.

The death of this man, whether you believe his life to be noble or not, is a tragety.

I am pro-life and I agree, this is tragic. I advise other pro-lifers not to take abusive action when combating abortion. It is contradictory and wrong. Much like Christians who hate homosexuals, it only makes them look stupid and turn everyone off to all Christians so please, don’t turn people off to us well-meaning pro-lifers.

I agree that this was a completely inhumane and hypocritical act that that they killed him. They are fighting against him not to kill unborn children, and in doing so committed murder themselves. I would never do an act like that because it would never stop anything, but I am completely against abortion. I know it is a terrible thing, and although people may think of it as an ‘easy’ way out, it is still the act of murder, and causes emotional turmoil for the person who did this.

I am pro-abortion. As much as it may be considered murder, I believe it should be a legal option for those who cannot raise a child or would not be a fit parent. I don’t know if I would ever have one, and I hope I will never have to be put in a situation to have to decide that, but I know we should legalize it. There needs to be that option whether you take it or not.
