Fire David Letterman.
What a scandal. Ever since Sarah Palin made the news as McCain’s VP pick she hasn’t been able to keep her nose out of it. Whether is was spending campaign money on a new wardrobe or talking about how God elects the U.S. President, not the people Palin just won’t go back to Alaska. The worst thing is people are actually backing her! Super conservative Americans are jumping on her band wagon.
Now a group of belligerent republicans (an assumption of the majority)are calling on CBS to fire David Letterman from his late night show because of his comments about Palins Daughter. They are writing letters and organizing rallies against him. They are taking it so far as to boycott all companies associated with the sponsoring of that show. (They have a list.)
They state, “David Letterman must be held accountable for his disgraceful comments. 62 year old Letterman violates common decency with sexist insults of 14 year old girl [Palin's daughter]”
But where would America be without David Letterman? Palin opened the door for such comments by putting herself in the media spotlight, she knew the risks.
Don’t allow David Letterman to be shut down for the likes of Sarah Palin!!
I agree David Letterman should not be fired, but he needs to make a sincere apology. The need to threaten to fire him if that makes him come out and apologize to Palin. As for Conservatives taking it too seriously, Liberals are trying ban every conservative talk show and radio host when they disagree with the president. As for Palin, I feel she is attacked way too much and she has a right to make a big scene when it involves her family, especially her children. If someone made a crude joke about the Obama children, they would be crucified. Everyone scolded Palin on the amount of money spent on her wardrobe, but rave about how good Michelle Obama looks when she wears a new dress that costs just as much.
just awesome, I’ve never been too much a fan of David Letterman but I have to back him up on this one… Sarah Palin has got the super right wing stuffed away in her cabin and it seems to me that she’s taking too much offense to a jokesters jokes… the fact that they said Letterman made jokes about A rod raping their 14 yr old daughter is insane, he’s just playing on the already under-fire pregnancy of Bristol just like any other comedian would, granted he doesnt have the best taste for jokes but I don’t think its right to flame him for inciting sexual immorality or the raping of women.. thats just absurd
@zach yeah I agree with the stuff about the family, maybe it is a bit too far and liberals love to bash her for every little thing. this is a twisted world, and both conservatives and liberals have to get their punches in whether it be Rush Limbaugh or David Letterman
