MY Q-Link Story
After 21 Days of wearing my Q-LINK, I lost it in a mountain lake…
I’m like most people. Skeptical about anything I can’t see, touch and feel. I am even more skeptical about stuff I find on the Internet.
I had never heard of a Q-LINK before this May. I wore it as part of this blogger challenge (I got a free one). I put it on, forgot about it and went about my busy life. Phone calls, emails, running around with the kids, the dogs, my wife…
I can’t say I felt bad before wearing my Q-LINK, but I can tell you this is my honest story about wearing one.

I didn’t appreciate it until it was gone…
It was a Monday morning. Normally, I would be hard at work, glued to a computer, putting out fires, trying to get through the day without a headache, yelling at anyone and the veins in my head popping out.
This Monday, however was different. I was playing hookie and me and my wife and dogs had slipped up to the mountains of Tennessee for a little much-needed break.
After about the 4th swing from the rope swing into the lake, I realized my Q-LINK was gone.
I had worn it swimming as I had done before, but this time it had slipped from my neck.
After a moment of ‘panic’ (which you will understand after reading this), I decided it actually had been helping me.
This is my story – how I went from being a workaholic to swimming in a glorious mountain lake, all in 21 days. I can’t say this transformation was because I was wearing a Q-LINK, I think that would be a stretch. What I can tell you, is my story, and you can decide for yourself.
(Here is their least expensive model, like the one I wore)
At first, I felt nothing…
The first few days of wearing my Q-LINK, I felt nothing. I kept taking the Q-LINK challenge, and my scores never increased (they actually went down). One day, I think it was about day 4, I came home from work, and as usual, went to my home computer to check my email.
I don’t know what it was exactly, but as I got close to the screen, I started to feel sick. I found I had to unplug everything – computers, stereos, lights, alarm – all of it – and lay down for a minute. I honestly was starting to notice the impact of all of these devices, and the associated EMF radiation.
I am an environmental engineer, so of course I started to do research.
The first thing I found was an alarming article on the EPA’s website about how EMF from power lines MAY cause cancer:
Electric and magnetic fields (EMF) are invisible lines of force that surround any electrical device that is plugged in and turned on. EMF are made up of waves of electric and magnetic energy moving together (radiating) through space. Electric fields are produced by electric charges and magnetic fields are produced by the flow of current through wires or electrical devices.

EMF is commonly associated with power lines. A person standing directly under a high-voltage transmission line may feel a mild shock when touching something that conducts electricity. These sensations are caused by the strong electric fields from the high-voltage electricity in the lines. They occur only at close range because the electric fields rapidly become weaker as the distance from the line increases.
Many people are concerned about potential adverse health effects. Much of the research about power lines and potential health effects is inconclusive. Despite more than two decades of research to determine whether elevated EMF exposure, principally to magnetic fields, is related to an increased risk of childhood leukemia, there is still no definitive answer. The general scientific consensus is that, thus far, the evidence available is weak and is not sufficient to establish a definitive cause-effect relationship.
In 1998, an expert working group, organized by the National Institute of Health’s National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), assessed the health effects of exposure to extremely low frequency EMF, the type found in homes near power lines. Based on studies about the incidence of childhood leukemia involving a large number of households, NIEHS found that power line magnetic fields are a possible cause of cancer. The working group also concluded that the results of EMF animal, cellular, and mechanistic (process) studies do not confirm or refute the finding of the human studies. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (WHO) reached a similar conclusion.
I can’t claim that my Q-LINK protects me from all of this negative energy in my life. What I CAN CLAIM, is that after almost a month of wearing it, I feel better, am able to relax, and genuinely notice when I have been around the computer too much.
This is the Q-LINK I wore (until I lost it in the Tennessee mountain lake!)
