Local Happening in Oregon For May!
Now that it is finally starting to heat up here a little Oregon, people are crawling out of hibernation. The weather is just getting right to get out and enjoy the beauty of this great state. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
Indie Wine Festival kicks off May 14th in the Bison Building on 10th Ave. You can enjoy wine that is made by smaller vineyards. There will be wine tasting, cooks from local restaurants, and classes teaching you the art of making your own wines.
Cinco De Mayo Marathon on May 8th is a half marathon that benefits Retinal Research. There is also a special race for the kiddies so everyone is included. This is a family friendly event. There will be traditional Azteca Mexican food and a live Mariachi band.
The Irvington Home Tour which I did once many years ago is holding their 29th annual showing of the historical homes of Irvington. These houses are breathtaking. It is considered the most beautiful neighborhood in Portland. They will be holding showings May 21-23.
And for you animal lovers check out Brewer’s Ale Fest. This beerfest is all about animals; the proceeds go to the Humane Society. They will be holding a dog wash and doggie Olympics. You will also enjoy great food, live music, and an array of art vendors. So get on over to the coast May 21st-24th.
These are just a few of the things going on here in Portland and nearby areas. So come on out and enjoy the sun. You know we don’t get a lot of it. So soak up the vitamin D while you can with these fun filled activities.
