Ideas for Celebrating Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is always a time of people scurrying around looking for gifts. It is also one of those times which have been greatly commercialized.
It is, however, a wonderful time to let mothers of all ages know that they are still appreciated. One of the usual practices is to give gifts which end up as white elephants or deep in the back of a cupboard somewhere. Do something different this year.
One of the best ways to show your mum that you care is to tap into what she loves. An idea for an outdoor mom is to arrange for a lovely outing in nature with a lovely picnic basket. Combine that with some bird watching and you have a winner. Make sure you take along a camera and binoculars (if you don’t have the latter, it might just end up as the perfect gift).
There are also many gardens (especially Botanical Gardens) to visit around and it would be an interesting adventure. Most times these gardens have restaurants as well where you and your mum could have a lovely lunch or high tea.
Some mums enjoy spa treatments and do not always have the time or the finances to go. This is your opportunity to make her day by giving her a gift voucher to a spa. It could include a full body treatment which would make the day worthwhile.
If she enjoys having her hair done, take her to one of those salons that give head massages, foot massages and hand massages. Let her have a good hair treatment as well as a cut, if she so wishes. The offer is open for her to choose.
If you give gifts, remember what she was talking about recently. If she has been complaining about not
being able to relax, make up a little gift parcel with all the lovely relaxing oils, bath crystals and other little things which she could use to be able to relax at night.
The most important thing to remember is to know what she wants and provide that as a very special treat.
