Wish: I have a neurological disorder called Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. It has impaired my ability to walk and makes it difficult to get around. I will be getting a power chair in the coming months, but the problem is my vehicle. I currently have an old, beat up pick-up truck with busted shocks, ABS problems and a rusted out tailgate. It’s not suitable for a power chair, especially during Indiana winters. I’m also having increased difficulty maintaining the break when stopped for any length of time. What I really need is a handicap accessible vehicle, like a van or something similar, that can house the power chair inside, has a ramp to enter/exit and hand gears for driving. I certainly know it’s a lot to ask, but the ability to have independence is priceless!
