My Son And I Need An Angel! Please Read Our Post!

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

Wish: My name is Mary, and I have a son turning 13 years old on christmas day. Unfortunately I have been out of work for about a year now and I just keep faith, and stay in prayer about how I can give my son a traditional christmas, and a birthday that he will remember. If someone takes the time out to read this post and is able to be our angel this year, may God continue to bless you, and allow me to pay it forward, when I regain financial stability. Thank you for taking time out to read my wish, God willing one way or another My son will be able to have a smile on his face, like every child should on Christmas day, especially since it also will be his birthday.

Please Help Us Get Our Son Christmas! This Is His Fourth Year Going Without!

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

Wish: It has been a REALLY tough year! My husband has been hospitalized a couple of times and been out of work disabled for over four months time. I am a chronic pain fighter and disabled since 1999 with RSD/CRPS (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) – a disease I developed after falling down a flight of stairs and shattering my ankle which affects the sympathetic, parasympathetic and autonomic nervous systems. I also have Fibromyalgia and approximately 10 other diseases that compound the RSD/CRPS symptoms. The main symptom of RSD/CRPS is an incredibly high level of burning nerve pain that feels like someone has poured gasoline inside my body and lit it on fire. The disease started in my left ankle and has spread full body including my autonomic nervous system which is my digestion, breathing, eyesight, sweating, menstruation, hearing, concentration, memory, and also anxiety. There is so much involved with the RSD/CRPS and when I first was diagnosed, there were no support groups or online Facebook available so I started a support group in Kansas City in 2006. I now am also a MW Reg Manager for US Pain Foundation also. We have a 21 year old son who just had a birthday in mid-November and we were unable to do ANYTHING for his big birthday. With our finances the way we are – (we are behind on our bills, utilities, etc.) we are unable to buy our son any Christmas gifts either. It is unfair to expect him to go without again for the 4th year. It seLisaems that every single year, the “black cloud of problems” has found us around Christmas time. My husband and I can go without gifts again but I would love to be able to get my son some gifts for combination birthday/Christmas!!! He is a wonderful son! Plays in a worship band at church, plays in another band, no drugs, no drinking, treats women with respect (i.e. – not dating right now), and is a good Christian kid. He deserves better than what we are able to give to him. He will soon be gone from our home to stay and I want the final year(s) with him home to be somewhat decent. They have failed for what they should have been. He is loved so much – but I feel like we have failed him in so many ways. I actually feel like I have failed my husband too as he works sooooo hard sometimes working months without a day off when he is working and not having time to himself. I would love to get him a nice gift… but I can’t. Believe me, I know that gifts do not buy love. I learned that at an early age. It is just that after so many many years of going without, you start to feel a little scorned. I just want to be able to show them that I DO LOVE THEM!!! Anyway, thank you for reading my wish! Sincerely, LKC

Need Help Getting My Son To Lose Weight!

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Wish: I wish for someone to help my 26 yr old son, medically, as he is 6’7.5″ tall, but weighs 500-600 lbs… and his knees, ankles, etc, are starting to give out on him… He’s ONLY 26, and I want him to live to be 100… I am an insulin-dependent diabetic, and pray he never has to go thru that, tho without weightloss (surgically or otherwise) he is heading that direction… along with heart disease and cancer that runs in my family… That is MY ultimate wish! Thanx for letting me ‘wish’… it sure sounds hopeful… D

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Wish: My wish is to be able to give my 14 year-old son a great Christmas this year. He has been bullied at school for the past 4 years and his father passed away 2 weeks ago. He has been thru so much and he has gone from a happy sweet boy to a sad and withdrawn one. He keeps asking me why me mom, why doesn’t anyone care about me. It is just him and I and there is no money left after I pay bills to buy him presents.

My Son Needs Help Losing Weight!

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Wish: I am writing this for my 20 year old son who definitely needs some help. Four years ago he weighed 280 and with the help and encouragement of his grandmother lost 68 pounds. On February 13 2009 she passed away and since then he has doubled his weight. He now weighs over 400 pounds. He knows he needs to loose weight however he needs some motivation and help. He doesn’t drive I do think it is because he can’t fit behind the wheel. He doesn’t work either. Most of the food in the house is healthy for you. However if you eat enough of it you will gain weight. He also likes to eat at night while everyone is sleeping, however we can hear the microwave going. At one time I even tried to only have fruit, vegetables and meats in the house but his sister lost weight too and weighed only 85 pounds. She is 5’3 and 17 now and weighs about 110 so she is ok. So I do need to have some foods like bread, pasta and cheese in the house.I would like to see him happy again and be able to do all the things he is missing out on in life. At this point I think he would even go on a T.V. show to show others it can be done. He blames me for gaining all the weight back saying I had a piece of birthday cake while on my diet so he did too. for him it did not stop there. He needs someone other than myself to let him know that in the beginning it will be tough however eventually he will be able to eat other foods occasionally. I myself am overweight however I do have a thyroid condition. He knows I don’t eat any of the foods his sister will eat and still am not loosing weight. However he could easily do this as he has before. This would be the best Christmas ever if there is some help out there for him. I did not mention that I have been out of work on medical leave since February of 2011. right now I do get 60% of my pay which does cover basic bills but there is not anything left over to enroll him in a weight loss program. I have tried to convince him to try weight watchers however he really does need someone who can advise him and help him through this. Thank You for taking the time to read this.
