So Twitter is changing things up by adding Lists to the equation. It makes it easier in many ways and just mimics what people were doing with Tweetdeck etc but it also adds another dimension to track and metric to monitor. The more the merrier – - – or- – - I am not a number!
The Self Proclaims Social Media gurus are running around with wild abandon trying to be the first to offer clients a new tool. But what do these lists really mean to the web anyway?
Lists can be good in that they can provide value to those that use them properly, to get messages of import out quickly and to the intended audience.
Or they can be used as just another way for the marketers of the world, myself included, to segment, label, and push stuff your way? What ever happened to the great idea of inbound marketing?
Don’t I get to have my own tribe or twitterhood without commercialism taking over? Probably not. As long as someone can make a dime, they will overtake the conversation and it will be up to me and you to keep it honest!
At least this is a sure sign that capitalism is not dead!
WSI WebSense… It just makes Sense!
