TSU’s Head Coach Resigns After Upset Win

It’s not often that you see big, tough football players brought down to knees crying, but that is exactly what happened on Thursday night as TSU’s own coach James Webster announced to them that he would be Leaving the Universities football program. Even though the team has only 4 wins, Coach Webster still says that he is proud of them.

Webster’s choice to leave was most likely influenced by the teams record under his guidance. After all, you can’t expect to have 3 losing seasons and not expect some heat to come down on you.

Despite this sad turn of events, TSU did upset Eastern Illinois in last night’s game, something that coach Webster is proud of. Also, Webster is glad that his players have been able to keep out of trouble and hopes that they can keep some of the guidance he taught them in the five years that he has been at the school. His only hope now is that TSU gets a new coach soon, as no replacement has been announced yet.

Coffee Deterrent

This is supposed to be a clever advertisement from Folgers, but to me it is an extreme deterrent to coffee drinking in general. Smell is one of our strongest memory senses. We may see something and think it is clever and remember of Folgers is a cute clever company, but our nose smells raw sewage and subconsciously now associates that with coffee. I think that this is a silly advertisement, but would make an awesome case study for some psyche student. Just saying if you want to quit drinking coffee sniff this.

A man from A Bristol, Tennessee will face two felony drug charges after being indicted Tuesday by a Sullivan County grand jury.

Marco Mendoza age 29 was indicted on one count of possession of more than 26 grams of cocaine for resale or delivery and a count of maintaining a dwelling where illegal narcotics are used or sold. He was also indicted on one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The biggest punishment coming to him is not from owning narcotics, rather from intending to sell said narcotics. Now before anybody rushes to his defense and says that the 27 grams of coke was all for him, let me explain. The cocaine was stored in several baggies, and they were all next to a digital scale. I am sorry guys but to me that clearly shows intent to sell, and deserves a greater punishment than habitual drug use.

Education (TDOE) and GEAR UP TN are hosting the 2009 College Application Week thru November 16-20!

The 2009 College Application week wishes to give every graduating senior the opportunity to be able to apply for a college online using CollegeforTN.org, and really encouraging those who would not normally apply.
The students are encouraged to apply for at least one college during this week. Last year, 14 schools participated, and 1,300 applications were sent to different colleges.
