The Arlington Tennessee mayor finally apologized for his remark about President Obama being a Muslim, but did so by email…lame! Here is his emailed apology, “I regret that I offended anyone with my poor attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor amongst friends. … I allowed things to go too far,” The Commercial Appeal reported. I am shocked that he made such a ridiculous remark about our President on Facebook, and again that he thought it would be good joke.
I really don’t think this apology was genuine, it was extremely short, and he didn’t even make an effort to do a televised apology. I would be embarrassed for this guy to have the power to make political decisions for the residents of Arlington TN and if I were in charge he would no longer have a job.

Arlington Tennessee mayor Russell Wiseman has caused lots of chaos by saying Obama purposely scheduled his speech about Afghanistan so that Americans would be unable to watch the Christmas special of “Peanuts”. He posted this to his Facebook account! Only his friends were able to see the post, but he has over 1200 friends on Facebook. His post read as follows, “Ok, so, this is total crap, we sit the kids down to watch ‘The Charlie Brown Christmas Special’ and our Muslim president is there, what a load…..try to convince me that wasn’t done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute dissertation about it….w…hen the answer should simply be ‘yes’….” When I got wind of this I personally was shocked, it is amazing to me that someone who is in such a public position would state something this ignorant on Facebook. I think Wiseman should be responsible for the statement made on Facebook and should at the very least issue a public apology. To think our president has nothing better to do but “ruin” the viewing of a Christmas special is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Afghanistan is far more important to the country’s well being than watching “Peanuts”. What are your thoughts on this?
