I bought this about a year ago to replace my Braun. Everything the reviews say are true, it’s gorgeous and stylish. The lid does fall off sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me. The water tastes great. It does leak if you overfill it. And because it is meta;, it does get very hot, so you have to be careful not to touch the body but only the handle. But this is true for all of the stainless pots. One fine day, it just stopped working, and it was not abused in any way. (The contact between the base and the pot stopped working). My conclusion, this is poor quality and I don’t recommend buying it. Too bad! So beautiful!

It was time to upgrade our old cordless electric kettle. We had it for about 8yrs and now that everything in our kitchen is stainless steel, the old one just did not match anymore (white plastic). I’m very happy with this kettle, it’s much more quiet than the old one. I don’t know why somebody complained about the quality, it’s a great quality kettle, well designed. The cover in my old kettle was rather difficult to open, I had to push two buttons at the same time in order to open the lid. This one opens quickly with just one push of the button that is on the handle (I find this very convenient). It swings open in the middle but it can also be removed completely, so it’s not a problem when washing the kettle. I’m very happy with it and the blue light is very nice.

I have had a water cooker myself for 10 years and this is the 2nd Krups Kettle I have bought as a gift. This one is for my niece who is pregnant and she is thrilled with how quick she could make instant grits! I use my kettle constantly to preboil water for cooking noodles, potatoes, just everything in the kitchen not just making tea and I find it to be the biggest time saver. The water boils much fasted than on the stove top even though I cook with gas. So if you dont have one it your kitchen yet you want one!
