Transformers

Well everyone is excited about the upcoming release of the second installment in the Transformers saga. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is set to be in theaters June 24th and audiences across the globe may be in for a real treat. Of course it may just turn out to be exactly like the first one, whereas mind-blowing special effects tore through the screen and left you wondering what the hell was really going on, while Chevy is using it as an excuse to shove their latest throwback down your throat.

I’ve been a fan of the Transformers cartoon and even grew up playing with the toys, but to be honest I was pretty let down when the first Transformers hit the screen in 2007. As far as I know the general consensus was that audiences loved the chaotic film that had such a large degree of bedlam and nearly made me nauseous on multiple accounts, they loved it so much that it raked in $319 million. Perhaps audiences had to go back a second and third time to really understand who was winning battle between machine and slightly scarier looking machine, a scene that has a lot in common with the day to day workings of a steel mill.               ———————————–>

Will I see the 2nd one? The answer is yes, it’s a win win, if it sucks then I get to make fun of something that my friends will most surely enjoy, and if it’s good well then I get to look forward for the 3rd one that’s already in development.

    GM’s going bankrupt. The company needs this movie, it’s its own little “economic stimulus package” you could say. Revenge is coming and it’s gonna bite you in the ass.

    Watching transformers didn’t make me want to buy a car and i cant see why it would make anyone else want to buy one of the “cars” in the movie but as far as movies go i guess it was good.

    The first transformers movie was pretty good, I didn’t have any trouble following the fight scenes. Sequels always have the potential to be either really good (Spiderman II) or really bad (Spiderman III). I think Transformers II is going to be another good action movie, and I myself plan on seeing it when it comes out.

    Having said that, Michael Bay has screwed up movies before. Let’s hope he doesn’t do with Transformers II what he did with Pearl Harbor.

    Sure there’s a good deal of special effects, but thats what people are paying to see. They know that they’re not going to see a drama played out, or even excellent acting. The plot was kind of all over the place in the 1st movie, but I was able to follow everything fine.
    Also, Chevy needs the advertising. You’re right, the movie is worth watching, in 2 weeks your going to be telling us how awesome it was!

    It is my humble opinion that everyone has missed the real point here.
    That is…
    The first Transformers movie really kind of sucked.
    Really.
    It does not really matter why it sucked so badly. Tim simply expressed HIS reasons for why he did not like it.
    I understand Tim’s points and agree with them to a certain extent.

    The TRUE reasons the Transformers was found lacking was due to two very SIMPLE facts…
    poor script writing
    even more impoverished directing.

    The title “Transformers” SHOULD tell you a little something about the movie’s subject matter. However, in this case, Transformers is not about robots in an epic battle between good and evil. (Which, by the way, is exactly what the Transformers’ story is all about.)
    It is about a boy going through puberty, gets his first car, and a few other “who cares”.

    OH!!! and there were a few robots, explosions, and another semi-hot girl.
    and some Mr. Bean looking guy. (Comic relief)

    It should have been a prerequisit for any potential director for the the Transformers movie to be able to name off the top of his/her head at least five first generation Transformers.

    Mr. Bay never owned a Transformer in his life. I am sure of this!
    (I take him for more of a G.I. Joe kid.)
    Had he been asked to name even one Transformer he would have stood there with a confused look on his face, suddenly lit up with a grin, and said, “I can’t, but watch this!” as he lit a cherry bomb and exploded a toilet off of the wall.

    Oh well.
    I guess it is to be expected from Hollywood. After all…
    It’s not REALLY about telling good stories. Is it?
    It’s REALLY about the bottom line.
    Making money.

    Forget what Transformers fans want.
    Cater to the ignorant masses.
    Feed them the world’s longest car advertisement,
    And they will PAY to see it!
