Magic or Lakers?

So it’s settled, the Orlando Magic are set to take the stage at the finals versus the LA Lakers. Few people could have forseen the upset in which the Magic would take out Lebron’s Cav’s and have a shot at the title. With the win against the Cavaliers, the Magic will make their second appearance in the finals in franchise history, on the other hand the Lakers make this their thirty-first trip to the big show.

Commercials have been hyping up the seemingly obvious bout between Lebron and Kobe throughout the entire playoffs, and it almost seems like a shame to not be able to air it in the finals. Truth be told, I believe the Magic have a better chance at beating the Lakers in the end, of course the Cav’s would make for a better series and it’s what everyone outside of Orlando really wants to see, but it’s come to this and I can’t wait for the Magic to crush the god-awful Yankees…. err I mean Lakers…. well nvm whats the difference.

Ok so the duel of East coast vs West coast goes down on June 4th and I’ve got the Magic in 6, seriously who has more all around strength than the Magic this year? oh and I think you may see more 30+ pt games from Howard!

Orlando is a good team, but they don’t have depth. Lakers will win it in 6 or 7.

    Lakers woo hooo!

Well Tim … I can disagree with you on some of this.

You are right by stating the NBA and the advertisers wanted that LeBron/Kobe match up badly… so badly they were giving Orlando fouls whenever LeBron stepped into the paint it seemed. But this is a class case of “There is no I in Team”. Both the Cavs and Lakers are mostly made up of one person putting the team on their back and scoring 40-50 points a game. The beauty behind the Magic is that they have one of the most well balanced offenses in the NBA not to mention an awesome defense. The series between the Magic and Lakers won’t be close… and it won’t probably go more than 5 games, I’m going to say that the Magic may even sweep the Lakers…….they should have swept the Cavs (“best team” in the nba, best record, mvp, and coach of the year) had Lebron not made the shot of his life with .01 left, I mean come on.

be on the look out for that NBA Championship banner to fall in Orlando during game 4 or 5.

Oh and if Nelson is given the green light to play the finals…. it will be a sweep he was our best 3-point shooter before getting injured before the All-Star weekend.

I hope you’re pulling for the magic, you live 80 miles away lol

I think the Lakers are going to win the finals in 6 games. The reason for this is the Magic will not have many match ups as they did against the Cavs, Lakers have the players to guard Lewis and Turkoglu. They dont have anyone that can guard Dwight Howard but they have enough bodies to at least contain him like Gasol, Odom and Bynum. Then who on the Magic will guard Kobe Bryant aka Black Mamba, everyone says Pietrus will but remember he did slow down Lebron. Lebron still had a fantastic series the only reason the Cavs lost was because Lebron did not have enough support to help him out but Kobe Bryant has all the support from his team mates. Then you may ask that the magic are going to make all those 3s I dont think thats going to happen in this series on a consistent basis, Phil Jackson will figure out a way to stop that. The Magic did win the regular season series 2-0 but remember that Lakers team that the Magic played is not the same Laker team now they were not playing their best basketball in those 2 games they were coming off losses and were not together and rabmanovic was starting instead of Ariza now he is not even on the team. He got traded to the bobcats for Brown, who is playing great for them of the bench and talking about the bench in the regular season match ups against the magic farmar was injured too. The Lakers are playing great, their healthy and thats why I pick the Lakers to win this series in 6 games……

The Cleveland Cavaliers should be forced to change their name to the LeBrons to reflect the true nature of their name.

Being from Florida, naturally im pulling for the magic. However the lakers have something the magic don’t – Kobe. As long as the magic take care of him (like they took care of Lebron) They should be fine.

Since I go to UCF, I have to cheer on the Magic… =]

The fact of the matter is…Frankly, I don’t care. I’m not into basketball! For those of you that are, that’s kewl, but now that 24 is over…I’m sticking to blogging….BTW…check out http://www.jaxbloggers.com. Scott Lara

I have to agree with Scott Lara. You really have to have more than a little interest in the game in order to care about who is going to the championship, playoff, or whatever they call it in basketball terms. My checking account balance does not increase or decrease regardless of who wins, so unless one of the teams starts making my mortgage payment when they win…..
It really does not concern me.

    Hats off to everyone else,
and I hope your team wins….
    I guess.
