So most Americans have some ardor toward their selected political alignment, whether it be Democrat, Republican, or Socialist Workers Party (jk) , for reasons ranging from personal experiences to the most popular among college kids, parent affiliation. What I’m trying to elicit with this video is the political prowess that burns through us all, I would like to know what you guys think of it and why you either hate the idea of Obama’s terrorist ways or sympathetically understand the burdens of not being born a statistically propitious white American.

Personally I like to take both sides of the argument and try to rationalize them, I somewhat despise people like Rush Limbaugh, who seldom make good observations and good points, but more so tear down the unity of people and try to start a fight by saying, I’m an American, a white male who eats meat, drinks beer, occasionally makes a funny minority joke and wants to drop a nuke on everyone who doesnt think the same way. Granted you now probably hate me but thats the beckoning pugilist in you that has been taught by Fox news to disregard any second thought of human decency toward anyone that doesn’t look the same or talk the same as you.

Well anyway here is a video of a videogame that happens to put you in the shoes of a wrongfully accused detainee who is off to reunite with his son, what do you guys think of this?

    This is the reason why Gitmo can be closed. They make video games about it, hopefully it wont be terrible like most games these days.

    Looked into the developer, T-Enterprises. Their offerings have primarily put them in the business of developing satirical, message-driven novelty Flash games. The political nature of T-Enterprise’s work is obvious. They’ve developed games that have lampooned Sarah Palin (for being a hawk) and George W. Bush (dodge-the-shoe, fighting congress). In the UK they have been successful (newspaper clips @ http://www.t-enterprise.co.uk/corporate-technology/newspapers.aspx). “Rendition” might be seen as an effort to increase the company’s brand in the U.S.

    They’ve never developed an XBOX game though, and that spot looked pretty crap-tastic, so the game probably won’t do well. What piques my curiosity is the possibility that the game developer may not even care.

    On the politics, obviously we could keep these people at Fort Leavenworth (there are 10+ prisons in the area, I am referring to the one that is in the middle of a MASSIVE army base). Yes, they are “people.” This issue is dead until Obama moves on it… right now it’s just a cultural fetish, not going anywhere.

    The whole “imagine this was your missing son” is absolutely absurd. If one manages to get thrown into Gitmo then it is safe to assume that at least one — or some combination — of the following: a) there were no parents for the detainee b) they were bad parents c) the detainee ended communications with kin as an act of self-will to “do jihad”

    That should work.

    The word is freedom. Anyone has the freedom to make a video game, even if it is harmful to the families of our servicemen and women. The point is, people who are against this game should contact the manufacturer of the game and let them know your displeasure. I am opposed to this game, but my wife was opposed to Grand Theft Auto Vice City…and I loved that game.

    I’m not too sure what the point of this post is or what discussion you’re looking for. But let’s consider some facts:

    1) Prisoners taken to Guantanamo ARE terrorists. If they weren’t, they’d be in some tent-box prison around the area they were nabbed. The reason they are taken to Guantanamo is to extract information they have from them that can save lives. This is proven fact. Lives have been saved because of information extracted from Guantanamo detainees.

    2) 1 in 7 prisoners released from Guantanamo return to terrorism. Read that: RETURN. That means they did it before they were caught. Now they’re doing it again because we had to release them on executive order.

    3) Innocents being held in a prison is not an excuse to close the entire prison. If that were the case, we would have no prisons.

    4) Tax-paying citizens around the nation are being denied rights every day when Police officers rampage their house on a fly-by-night court order, and taken to jail for several nights with no given reason. When an officer of the Law tazers a woman and arrests a man for questioning their speeding ticket, we don’t demand that the judicial system be abandoned or that the police station be shut down.

    5) Fox news has never run a news spot, published an article or delivered a monologue encouraging anyone to practice any sort of racial discrimination. You can not list a single instance in time where that has happened. Ever.

    6) That was the worst fake trailer for a fake game ever.

    This is ridiculous!! I hate videogames, the create the scum of society. I don’t know if closing Guantanamo will do anything, but it should send a message to America that torture will not be tolerated.

    It looks like a cheesy video game that they’re trying to sell by giving it a politically charged storyline. Or maybe the developers are just using their craft to make a political statement. Either way, the game itself looks as if it will be the secondary focus; the climate of it will surely be the primary focus. That’s a lousy game development policy. Maybe I’m wrong…
