New cat

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Hey so I get to work and I’m thinking what the hell am I going to write about? Then it happens my girlfriend sends me a text that she bought a cat!! she had been wanting to get a cat for some time now and finally picked up the newspaper, went to someone’s house and bought one. For the past few months every time I went down to see her we’d go to the humane society and check out the cat cove, it’s a rather sweet looking cat sanctuary where all its inhabitants lounge around all day, it actually made me jealous that I’m not feline =/

The cat area is made up of 10+ stations like this one, and there have to be at least 40 cats in there just laying around, but there may be more because the cats love to get in all the small spots and just go into a coma lol.

So now my girlfriend is working on getting the cat back to her place, she can’t really have a cat where she lives and she probably can’t have it where she’s going to move to in August so she has to get her friend to fill out the papers and everything.

Hopefully I can get some pictures up of this cat today and you guys can check it out, but in the mean time the cat still needs a name! So let me know what you think a good name for a grey/white female cat is, my vote is Oscar… i know it’s masculine but I think it’s baller.

Looking on to Game 4

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Finally the Magic have a win and the series is saved, or is it? A lot of people figured that the Magic would come to Orlando and get a win right off, and I agree, they had to, they had to in order to keep their fans and more importantly their players mentally attuned for what’s next, or what has to be next. Orlando now has a chance to pull the series around and actually come out of this thing holding on to the Larry O’Brien trophy for the first time in franchise history. The biggest challenge is now game 4, if the Magic can come back on Thursday and secure another win at home they will have the momentum to finish off their home series with a turkey (three strikes). Rafer Alston really stepped it up in Tuesday’s game and took a commanding 20 points of the Magic’s win, as a result of his excellent shooting, 8-12, he was able to stick in for 37 minutes and coax the team to victory. Rafer was definitely the deciding factor for Tuesday’s game and it’s going to take even more out of him to help close out game 4, plus a myriad of other outstanding performances from the rest of the team.

Here’s a video of the highlights and man you can see how exciting this game was.

I’m Scared…

Monday, June 8th, 2009

So as all you basketball fans know, the Magic aren’t doing so well in the Finals. LA now leads the series 2-0 and it’s starting to look pretty grim, luckily Orlando is headed back home for three straight games and with the way they played last night they should still have a shot at making this interesting. The problem with game 1 is that Kobe was completely amazing, I’ve never been a fan of the Lakers and never seen enough of Kobe to give him credit for being so known but on last Thursday he made his presence known and he dominated that court. Obviously it ain’t all over yet, the Magic showed a fantastic performance last night despite the fact that LA was all over Dwight Howard, which eventually cost them the game, or maybe it was that way-too-strong layup from Lee at the buzzer, either way the Magic should have walked away from that series leaving it at 1-1, that just means that they’ll have to come to Orlando and be perfect, give the fans a little hope and get there shot percentage up from 20 or however freaking low it has been.

I know all of you Laker fans are prolly rollin around laughing at how you stomped us in the first game and then closed out what looked to be like a redeeming second game, but don’t get too excited yet because it’s a long series (hopefully) and once we start hittin them threes and find out who the hell is payin off the refs we’ll close the gap and finish it leaving you guys in the dust cryin.

They say that only 3 teams have come back from being 0-2 in the finals to win it, but I say who cares? statistics mean squat when it all comes down to it, and what did LA do? they won at home, if Orlando can do that too, which they will, then were back in it and we just have to have another game 2 where we make the buzzer beater.

Drag me to hell!

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

You can ask anyone who knows me, I’m not much a fan of horror films, perhaps it’s the disturbing images that follow you to bed at night or maybe it’s all the creepy music followed up by intense scenes that send you flying out of your seat, either way I always find myself fighting to see the new James Bond movie over the horror flick of the week, and if they do get me in to the theater it’s always a little unpleasant watching half the movie through the cracks in my hands that cover my face. I know you’re thinking, damn he’s a chicken but c’mon! wouldn’t you like to go home that night and not have to check under the bed and in the closet to assure yourself that no new found demons plague it, or no axe-wielding marauder waits for you behind a half-closed door?

Anyway, the first time I saw the clips for Drag me to Hell I was impressed, that must have been the very first time in my human life that I uttered the words, “Damn, I really want to see that horror movie!” Well the movie is out now and I still haven’t seen it, I’ve been busy trying to pocket the little bit of cash that I have, and haven’t quite had the 10 dollars to run out to AMC and indulge in a film. I think the reason that the film sparks my interest is that the event of why the horror and suspense occurs is pretty funny, and the over-the-top effects make it even more comical.

So when I finally get enough cash to check it out I’m sure that my horror loving friends will jump at the chance to go and see a horror movie where I wasn’t dragged to my seat and forced to watch as some monster jumped out at an unsuspecting “good guy” and was subsequently torn to shreds as all monsters tend to do to their victims.

Politics

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

So most Americans have some ardor toward their selected political alignment, whether it be Democrat, Republican, or Socialist Workers Party (jk) , for reasons ranging from personal experiences to the most popular among college kids, parent affiliation. What I’m trying to elicit with this video is the political prowess that burns through us all, I would like to know what you guys think of it and why you either hate the idea of Obama’s terrorist ways or sympathetically understand the burdens of not being born a statistically propitious white American.

Personally I like to take both sides of the argument and try to rationalize them, I somewhat despise people like Rush Limbaugh, who seldom make good observations and good points, but more so tear down the unity of people and try to start a fight by saying, I’m an American, a white male who eats meat, drinks beer, occasionally makes a funny minority joke and wants to drop a nuke on everyone who doesnt think the same way. Granted you now probably hate me but thats the beckoning pugilist in you that has been taught by Fox news to disregard any second thought of human decency toward anyone that doesn’t look the same or talk the same as you.

Well anyway here is a video of a videogame that happens to put you in the shoes of a wrongfully accused detainee who is off to reunite with his son, what do you guys think of this?

Magic or Lakers?

Monday, June 1st, 2009

So it’s settled, the Orlando Magic are set to take the stage at the finals versus the LA Lakers. Few people could have forseen the upset in which the Magic would take out Lebron’s Cav’s and have a shot at the title. With the win against the Cavaliers, the Magic will make their second appearance in the finals in franchise history, on the other hand the Lakers make this their thirty-first trip to the big show.

Commercials have been hyping up the seemingly obvious bout between Lebron and Kobe throughout the entire playoffs, and it almost seems like a shame to not be able to air it in the finals. Truth be told, I believe the Magic have a better chance at beating the Lakers in the end, of course the Cav’s would make for a better series and it’s what everyone outside of Orlando really wants to see, but it’s come to this and I can’t wait for the Magic to crush the god-awful Yankees…. err I mean Lakers…. well nvm whats the difference.

Ok so the duel of East coast vs West coast goes down on June 4th and I’ve got the Magic in 6, seriously who has more all around strength than the Magic this year? oh and I think you may see more 30+ pt games from Howard!
