Magic No More

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Last night I wasted some time in trying to watch the Magic come back and make an honorable fight out of the rest of the finals… as most of you know that is something that didn’t happen. Now many of you Laker fans are probably rejoicing in your easy 4-1 series win but let me remind you that 2 of those games went into overtime and if the Magic would have just converted on 1 freethrow the outcome of the series would be drastically different. I know it’s rather stupid to say what if, because obviously it didn’t happen but cmon I have to have something to hold on to! I guess the biggest thing that I’m upset about is that my pride is hurt, oh and I’m out 20 bucks haha but as for next year I don’t know what the magic are going to do… they have a strong team and if the planets align and the fate’s shine upon them they may be back in the same place maybe winning a few more games in the finals! I had the craziest dream last night too, i was at some theme park in Orlando and met up with Derek Fischer, he was pretty cool but later on we met with Kobe and that guy was a douche, he wouldnt say a word… prolly just my inner hatred for the man coming out in my subconcious lol. but now that basketball season is over and I’m crushed it’s time to look onto Jag football (another potentially crushing subject)! this is something that has always excited me, even in the down times, and I cannot wait for the season start against the Colts! Hopefully the Jags can get a good start and rally my spirits, im so tired of going to bed crying I mean it’s just not fun waking up to a wet pillow lol. Let me know what you guys think of this terrible end to the finals, and what lies in store for the Jags in September.

Looking on to Game 4

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Finally the Magic have a win and the series is saved, or is it? A lot of people figured that the Magic would come to Orlando and get a win right off, and I agree, they had to, they had to in order to keep their fans and more importantly their players mentally attuned for what’s next, or what has to be next. Orlando now has a chance to pull the series around and actually come out of this thing holding on to the Larry O’Brien trophy for the first time in franchise history. The biggest challenge is now game 4, if the Magic can come back on Thursday and secure another win at home they will have the momentum to finish off their home series with a turkey (three strikes). Rafer Alston really stepped it up in Tuesday’s game and took a commanding 20 points of the Magic’s win, as a result of his excellent shooting, 8-12, he was able to stick in for 37 minutes and coax the team to victory. Rafer was definitely the deciding factor for Tuesday’s game and it’s going to take even more out of him to help close out game 4, plus a myriad of other outstanding performances from the rest of the team.

Here’s a video of the highlights and man you can see how exciting this game was.

I’m Scared…

Monday, June 8th, 2009

So as all you basketball fans know, the Magic aren’t doing so well in the Finals. LA now leads the series 2-0 and it’s starting to look pretty grim, luckily Orlando is headed back home for three straight games and with the way they played last night they should still have a shot at making this interesting. The problem with game 1 is that Kobe was completely amazing, I’ve never been a fan of the Lakers and never seen enough of Kobe to give him credit for being so known but on last Thursday he made his presence known and he dominated that court. Obviously it ain’t all over yet, the Magic showed a fantastic performance last night despite the fact that LA was all over Dwight Howard, which eventually cost them the game, or maybe it was that way-too-strong layup from Lee at the buzzer, either way the Magic should have walked away from that series leaving it at 1-1, that just means that they’ll have to come to Orlando and be perfect, give the fans a little hope and get there shot percentage up from 20 or however freaking low it has been.

I know all of you Laker fans are prolly rollin around laughing at how you stomped us in the first game and then closed out what looked to be like a redeeming second game, but don’t get too excited yet because it’s a long series (hopefully) and once we start hittin them threes and find out who the hell is payin off the refs we’ll close the gap and finish it leaving you guys in the dust cryin.

They say that only 3 teams have come back from being 0-2 in the finals to win it, but I say who cares? statistics mean squat when it all comes down to it, and what did LA do? they won at home, if Orlando can do that too, which they will, then were back in it and we just have to have another game 2 where we make the buzzer beater.
