This is a great alternative to a hard bed rail or pillows. I use it at home on my king bed when my teething toddler is having a rough night and will only sleep in my bed. I have also used it while traveling. It inflates and deflates fairly easily and is very lightweight and easy to work with. It doesn’t take up too much room in the suitcase, either. I’m very happy with my purchase and wish I had bought it sooner.
This is not a substitute for common sense and parental supervision. Children can still wiggle their way under or over it so, as with most things, you still have to monitor them. This absolutely should not be used with infants due to the risk of SIDS.

We moved our daughter onto a full size bed when she was around 8 months old (makes for easier nursing during the night). We put her bed against the wall and used this on the open side. We put it on fairly tightly and put the elastic strap through the slats on the headboard and footboard of her bed (about 2 or 3 slats in from the edge). The elastic is fairly stretchy, but because we didn’t put it right on the edge of the bed, but a few inches in, we never had a problem with it at all. Our daughter did figure out how to get around it eventually, but we had her bed very close to the floor and by the time she figured out how to get around it, she had absolutely no problem getting in and out of her bed…and much higher things for that matter. We really just wanted something to make sure she wouldn’t accidentally fall out of bed and it worked well for us.
