Safe, Comfortable Bedtime on the Go
The PeaPod P201 is a lightweight sleeping tent, which comes with an inflatable air mattress to keep your child’s bedtime comfortable. An air pump is included. The mattress fits snugly inside the sleeping tent “pod,” which features a wraparound mesh canopy with a wide, zippered opening to give parents quick and easy access, or to allow an older child to crawl in and out easily. Your child can nap in comfort outdoors, thanks to the canopy’s UV protection and to a wide windscreen. The pod also includes a washable sleeping bag that can double as a sleeping pad.
Travel Light

I recently purchased the PeaPod Plus for my 16 month old daughter to use on several recent and upcoming trips. We have a pack and play, but it wasn’t ideal for a number of reasons: she hasn’t slept well in it on past trips, it’s heavier and bulkier than we would like, and we were afraid it would end up damaged during baggage handling. I decided to order the PeaPod bed, and it worked really well for us.
Before we left, I set it up in our family room several times for practice, and it was easy from the first try. By the time we actually went on our first trip, I didn’t even need the instructions to set it up or pack it away. And my daughter LOVED playing in it–she treated it like her personal bouncy house, dragged her dolls and stuffed animals inside, and even pretended to go to sleep in it. We even did a trial run before we left by placing it in her crib and putting her to bed in it a few days before we left. It was a tight squeeze, but she slept well.
My daughter has always been very tall for her age (95th percentile), so we chose the PeaPod plus over the PeaPod for the extra length, especially as she gets older. As a result, it did take up about half of a large suitcase, though there was still room to pack things on top of it. It would be great if it were more compact, but it was a lot better (and lighter) than a pack and play, and we made it work. When we arrived at our destination, she was really excited to “help” set it up and play inside. At night, she slept well, which was our biggest concern and a HUGE improvement over our experience with the pack and play. That alone made it worth purchasing.
The PeaPod Plus has a lot of features that I really like. The air pump worked well for us (my daughter even tried to imitate us using it), and I like that the air mattress keeps her up off of the floor, especially on hardwood floors as the weather turns cold. The sleeping bag is nice, though we used it as a pad because she’s so young. The tent itself is really well designed and feels sturdy–even when my daughter was bouncing around inside, it never seemed like she could tip it over. On the whole, we’ve been really pleased with it and will be using it for many trips to come.

I bought one of these for my daughter and travel. The size and weight of this product when collapsed is remarkable. If you don’t mind the low ceiling, the thing has nearly as much space as a pack-n-ply at a tiny fraction of the weight. Open the travel bag and the tent part basically pops open to full size in a half second. Make sure you are in your deployment space as it does not fit through doors all that well.
The blow-up mattress is novel and does not take much breath to fill. However, it poses one major design flaw. Because the mattress inserts into a compartment under the tent, there is no way to put a sheet in the tent as there is no place to “tuck it in”. Not a huge fan of my daughter sleeping on nylon so I wrapped the mattress in a crib fitted sheet and stuck back in the tent. Worked fine.
Finally, it is super easy to break down but i defy you to do it the first time without directions. Don’t toss them, you will regret it.
Overall, SO MUCH BETTER than all alternatives. Recommended.

This item was perfect for us since we have been traveling 40 out of 60 days. We purchased this for our 9 month old baby. I chose the larger model since I would like to be able to use it for years to come. Practice opening and closing it so it doesn’t take you all day to fold it up. I don’t use the sleeping pad for sleeping since he is still an infant, but I do use it when he is playing. The inflatable mattress is nice, although I still add more air to it out of preference. The peapod is more lightweight than a playard and very convenient & lightweight to take with us when visiting friends/family/hotel room where you don’t want your child playing on the floor due to hazard issues like cords. My only issue is that it does get a little warm in there. We had it between 2 queen beds in a hotel room, but once we moved it to get circulation going through the mesh it was fine.

I just received this yesterday for a trip we are taking in the next few days. My son learned how to crawl out of his portable crib at 16 months and I don’t want to have to worry about him wondering around a friends house and he’s too much of a rowdy sleeper to sleep with anyone else comfortably or on a big bed safely. And the small size seemed perfect for taking along on a flight. I have to say I was a bit concerned when reading other reviews that said this was really only for infants but I didn’t want to go bigger for fear it would be too bulky for packing. So – set up was a breeze – out of the bag it just pops open. Once I had the matress inflated (with the not-to-great hand pump – thus the 4 stars) my 10-year old crawled in to “test-drive” it for her brother. She just fit. I can’t imagine my 2-year old will have any trouble sleeping in this, and he is tall for his age. Once we get back from vaca, I will update with any issues – but so far this has been a great purchase and I can’t imagine there will be anything negative to say.
*UPDATE* Just came back from our trip, and I have to say that I wish I had bought this instead of the pack-n-play we have lugged around for the last two years. My son had absolutely NO issues crawling in and going to sleep! I felt confident that he’d stay in it since we could zip him up and he slept comfortably through the night. The only issue is that it is quite loud when they move around inside since it is made of tent material. If you are a light sleeper you may want to put it in a different room – but I was able to get used to it after a few nights.

We ordered 2 of these from different sellers for our 18 month old and 3 year old. We are on the road a lot and they worked great in our RV and hotel rooms instead of lugging a bigger (heavier) pack and play around. Plus, they fold up very easily. I like that this one came with a washable sleeping pad. The mattress is like a swimming pool float that you blow up (there is a pump included, but blowing it up is just as easy). I guess they’ve never had any problems before, but ours unfortunately developed a hole quickly. Thankfully, Kidco replaced our mattress with no problem. The other version we got (the P102) is a slightly newer model and has a self-inflatable mattress like a camping sleeping pad. I love the peapod but would recommend getting the P102 for travel instead. It’s easier to inflate and the mattress is just more substantial. I also learned later that there is actually a larger model – about 5-6 inches bigger in every axis, so you might want to consider that depending on your travel needs and the size of your child. These littler ones have worked great for us and our kids are on the tall side.

I have 4 kids from 11 -4 and have had it for all four- I even bought a newer version for my 3rd baby but still used our older one! It fits in my backpack and is always a Shady and mosquito free sleeping place for even my 6- year old at the creek, in our yard or at a friends house! True it take practice learning how to close it and that is why I give a lesson at every baby shower I’ve attended! Really it’s not that hard- you just pinch it a both ends and circle in- once you get it you get it. This is by far my most used and cherished item and I buy it for everyone I know who is pregnant! The blue one is smaller(I like that) The red one(Plus)is huge and even though It has more features that I like, I always use my smaller one because it fits into everything.I set it up indoors too- people tend to leave the baby alone when they are zipped up in something and my little ones still love it, it is their own little personal play tent
