The Room to Grow 4-in-1 Inflatable Play Yard is not only a safe place to develop motor skills but can be used for a sleep space, changer or splash pool. Play Yard has two handles so you can move it indoors or out without taking it down. There are mesh window ports for cross ventilation and viewing for baby and caregiver. As a sleep space, the 4″ removable cushion has internal structure for added support. The air channeling across the surface of the cushion and the fitted soft cotton sheet provide added comfort to baby and cleaning convenience for caregivers. Extra single sheets can be ordered separately. As a changer, simply turn play yard upside down. The natural hammock formed by baby will help to center him/her for changing. As a splash pool, simply remove cushion and add water for a fun place to splash or bathe.

With several upcoming trips, I worried about what to do with the baby. Hotel cribs are usually just a cheap pack-n-play, and from previous experience I know my son isn’t likely to sleep on one of those hard PnP bases. I stumbled upon the Room to Grow playyard, and just HAD to give it a shot.
When it arrived the first thing I noticed was it was heavier than I expected. I know the sale page includes the product weight, but numbers mean very little compared with how something actually FEELS. Still, much lighter than a PnP.
The air pump included means business. It’s a foot pump, but it’s big. I inflated both the playyard, and the cushion, in about two minutes, at a leisurely pace. I’ll be using the pump this summer to inflate baby pools and rafts!
Before I finished inflating the playyard, I was already impressed by the sturdiness of the item. The bottom cushion fits snugly in place. Everything feels firm and safe for an infant.
The sheet provided is thick, soft, and well made.
This product is intended for children 12 months and under. Understandably, the manufacturer cautions against use with older children. However, my 15-month-old, who has proven to be an accomplished escape artist and climber, was not able to climb out of the Room to Grow playyard. And despite the 30# limit detailed in the instructions, my 40# 6-year-old AND my 20# 1-year-old were able to cozy up inside.
In a nutshell, I love this thing.
Three complaints:
1) it stinks for a couple days. open it up for a while to allow the plastic smell to dissipate.
2) the kids got a latex (?) rash after playing in it the first day. see #1
3) it’s big. bigger than a pack-n-play…. but smaller (and lighter) when packed. still, this is not an item for tiny areas.
