Steve Jobs born in 1955 and sadly passed away on October 5th, 2011. Steve Jobs was one of the most groundbreaking inventors and visionaries of our time. He was the co-founder of Apple. He and friend Steve Woziniak started Apple in a garage in California. Can you appreciate the magnitude of that? Apple was founded in a garage by two college drop-outs! Now it is a multi-billion dollar corporation. Jobs and Apple have brought us such revolutionizing and life-changing gadgets as the iPhone, iTunes, iPads, and iPods. The list can go on and on.

Steve Jobs was one of the driving forces behind some of our most innovative technological advances. He has brought to us computers, music, and mobile phones. The creations of Apple have been made by leaps and bounds. And these advancements in technology are courtesy of Steve Jobs, a man who had a vision and would not let anything or anyone detour him from his goals.

Steve Jobs resigned from Apple on August 24th, 2011. Jobs had been fighting a rare form of pancreatic cancer since 2003. He succumbed to the cancer this week. His was a bright light snuffed out far too soon. We can only hope Apple will be able to maintain and build upon his legacy.

Many people had great things to say about Steve Jobs, including our president Barack Obama, Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, and notable others. Steve Jobs will be remembered as the person who made it okay to be a nerd or geek. He saw computers as the future of mankind and built on this belief. He made an unforgettable commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005, telling his story. See it here.

This is a deep loss for all Americans. I personally offer my condolences and sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.
