How to become a great Yovia contributor

Google Trends is a great place to watch what is buzzing online

What should you be blogging about?

How can you create compelling content that earns you lots of residual money?

These are great questions.

Great blogging is based around great content. If you are copying other people’s work, creating articles that you don’t even find interesting, or writing just to try to have some content around what is the latest ‘buzz’, chances are you are not going to be as successful as you want to.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

1. Blog daily. As a blogger, you will get more activity as you become more active.

2. Focus your content around a handful of tags, categories and topics. If you have a wide variety of topics you want to tackle, consider creating multiple blogs from within your Yovia account.

3. Blog about the intersection between what is buzzing, and what you are interested in.  For example, this morning the buzz was about this “mysterious fireball” that was seen over the mid-west. I blogged about that, and the flurry of natural disasters in general.

4. If your post isn’t quality enough to share with your friends on Facebook or Twitter, you should probably re-write it or consider a new topic. Discussion generates traffic in this social online environment.

5. Have fun. There are no rules. Sometimes a clever image, quote or video can drive as much traffic as a 500-word essay that took you all day to write.

6. Always think about how the ‘web’ will see your article. As it gets passed around, consider what your primary graphic will look like as a thumbnail, does your content link to other relevant sources, and is your content titled, tagged and categorized in a way that people might actually search?
