The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit the Sichuan province of China yesterday.

The Olympic torch had just passed through the region on it’s way to the Olympic stadium.

This is the same region that experienced an 8.0 magnitude quake in May 2008 (below).

Early reports for this most recent quake indicate that there was at least 1 confirmed death, and several injuries.

Note: The region impacted is the origin of the popular Sichuan style food.
